1) THEY COMPLAIN A LOT ABOUT EVERYTHING IN THEIR LIFE

The symphony of discontent. This is something that MANY of us to do some degree but for some of us, it is a relentless pursuit of self-woe and victimhood and they cannot jump off the rat wheel of pity to actyally do something about changing their sorry lives.

This habit not only drains their own motivation but also repels potential allies and opportunities. After all, who wants to be around someone constantly radiating negativity? By focusing on what’s wrong rather than what could be right, these individuals create a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure. They don’t realize that every moment spent complaining is a moment lost in creating positive change.

2) THEY GIVE UP EASILY

Fragile mindsets and SELF-DOUBT are a killer for overcoming challenges or facing situations that require you to tackle things head on. When the oing gets tough, many of us tend to just bypass the challenge and walk away, throwing in the towel rather than accepting the challenge.

This hinders growth, potential and is an automatic failure before you even start and it stems from the root of feeling inadequate, unable to perform and not having a strong and integral sense of SELF -WORTH (Check out our HELLO, IT’S ME identity special program that looks at exactly this – Worth, values and a clear sense of SELF is essential for growth potential)

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

This lack of persistence stems from a fragile mindset that equates temporary failures with permanent defeat. Instead of viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, they see them as confirmation of their inadequacies. By giving up prematurely, they rob themselves of the chance to develop resilience and problem-solving skills—crucial attributes for long-term success.

Remember, every great achievement in history was preceded by countless failures and setbacks. It’s not about avoiding failure; it’s about having the grit to keep pushing forward despite it.

3) THEY IGNORE FEEDBACK OF ADVICE

We’ve all been there! It’s part of our ego development of ‘I KNOW BEST’ because it’s what helps us to identify an understanding and connection to the world around us however, if your ego is untamed and you walk through life with an arrogance or ignorance to the advice or feedback of others, you aren’t going to get very far

People that think they know it all therefore don’t need to listen to the feedback of others tend to seldom progress as they are stuck in their own limited and narrow minded viewpoint and potential. Progression means looking at other perspectives, considering other POINTS OF VIEW and considering everyone else in your field with a shared sense of respect for their values and viewpoints as well, whether you agree with them or not!

By dismissing outside perspectives, they deprive themselves of valuable insights that could help them course-correct and avoid potential pitfalls. Moreover, this behavior often alienates colleagues, mentors, and friends who might otherwise be inclined to offer support.

4) THEY MAKE EXCUSES AS TO WHY THEY CANNOT DO SOMETHING

Again, this tends to come from the root of SELF-DOUBT but also from the place where doubt becomes fear and insecurity – There is a lot of projection and blame / shame that flows in this field of ‘well, I could but….’ and it turns excuse-makers into victims of their own fears and inadequacies.

This habit is particularly insidious because it provides a false sense of comfort. By convincing themselves that external factors are to blame, excuse-makers avoid confronting their own fears and insecurities. They create a narrative of helplessness that becomes a self-imposed prison. The truth is, there’s nearly always a way forward for those willing to look for it but you have to be brave enough to try.

This then leads into failure and judgement. These people don’t like to fail or else they will be singled out by everyone else that has witnessed their falls but we all have falls, fears and failures. It is where growth exists.

DON’T MAKE EXCUSES BEFORE YOU’VE EVEN GIVEN IT A TRY

5) THEY OVER-ANALYSE EVERY LITTLE DETAIL

Paralysis by analysis—it’s the quicksand of the mind that traps unsuccessful people in a cycle of indecision. These chronic over-thinkers dissect every possible outcome, weighing pros and cons ad nauseam until the opportunity has long passed them by.

While thoughtful consideration is important, excessive rumination often leads to missed opportunities and stagnation. The fear of making the wrong choice becomes so overwhelming that no choice is made at all. This habit not only hampers personal progress but can also strain relationships and hinder professional growth.

AND A BONUS PIECE BECAUSE IT’S OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE RIGHT NOW AND PRETTY RELEVANT TO EVERYONE…..

I think we’re all familiar with this and as I have expressed STRONGLY MANY TIMES throughout ALL OF OUR WORKSHOPS , our nervous systems are wired to signal and operate according to the environment around us. If our environment has fog, static, stress, chaos and overwhelm, then our nervous SYSTEMS mimic the SYSTEM on the outside, therefore we are HARDWIRED for chaos and stress

Our bodies therefore pay the price and our brain tells our body “Hey, you’re dealing with a lot, why not put it off until tomorrow? You’ll be way more motivated then”

But then tomorrow comes and it’s still not got done and the channel of consistency has suffered a drought and that deadline is inching ever closer so the stress creeps in even more so what do you do?

You go burn your head in the sand with your face squashed between 2 pillows and pretend it doesn’t exist and it’ll all go away!

This all-too-common habit is a major roadblock for those stuck in life. Procrastinators constantly defer important tasks, opting for short-term comfort over long-term progress. They trick themselves into believing they work better under pressure, when in reality they’re just avoiding the discomfort of getting started.

The cost of procrastination goes beyond just missed deadlines. It erodes self-confidence, increases stress, and often results in subpar work. Breaking free from this habit requires cultivating self-discipline and learning to prioritize long-term goals over momentary convenience.

WHAT ARE THE SOLUTIONS TO ALL OF THIS?

Well guys, very simply…..You can do all the work, read all the books, do all of our workshops (and you should, they’re great) BUT

WITHOUT YOU putting in the effort to SHIFT yourself and take accountability towards SELF GROWTH, SELF-DEVELOPMENT, SELF-CONNECTION, SELF-UNDERSTANDING, SELF-RECOGNITION AND RESPECT, you’re likely going to fall right back into the pits. You’re likely not going to succeed

THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IN ORDER TO BETTER YOURSELF IS……YOURSELF

When YOU know YOURSELF then you can help others. When YOU know YOURSELF then you can create the life you want….

Don’t let anyone else tell you how to be. YOU DO YOU and guaranteed once you have this understanding, being authentically YOU is when life starts to fall into place so, please have the balls and the guts to go out into the world and be you in the best way you can be!

Honor your strengths AND weaknesses. Don’t run from things, face them and embrace them. Don’t put things off, take them on and turn them into opportunities. Don’t moan and complain, look at what there is to be grateful for and i’ll bet there are a million things you could find gratitude for…..

THE END IS THE BEGINNING IS THE END

CONTRARY TO YOUR OWN NATURE?

Good morning all and a happy Sunday where I am in bed with endless Ghee coffee, my cats and the hint of spring sun shining through the windows and I am coming on to have a chat about something particularly philosophical and considerable today. The start of one of our chats as we lead into our PORTAL NUMBER 3 which is all about THE SELF.

Yes, launching next month is the start of our “HELLO, IT’S ME IDENTITY SPECIAL“, where we’re going to be opening up aaaaaaalllllll kinds of uncomfortable perspectives and abstract possibilities, theories and opinions about WHO YOU ARE!

So I figured, given the last few weeks and what has transpired throughout our HR platform (will discuss below), there is a definite theme of THE AGES across various realms. Our human ages, work place ages, earthly spiritual ages, changing of the ages, expiration’s and new beginnings…..But in order to figure most of this out in a way that doesn’t overwhelm us or make us tremble in fear we have to question……

WHO ARE WE?

It’s a deep one. It’s not even got a concluding base layer or capped firmament it is literally endless, eternal and ongoing but, to start off simply, we’re going to look at a couple of complexities that get us to challenge the box we’ve put ourselves in and open up the conversation of LIFE AND DEATH for a moment and in a way that isn’t morbid but can hopefully get you to see the

Imagine you’re you, but you’re somehow put into a domain that you’re not necessarily comfortable with. You’re out of your exalted comfort zone and forced into something that is challenging and you’re not sure you like it and because you’re you, knowing how you usually chose to express yourself, you know your limits, boundaries, capabilities etc but somehow, now you’re in this phase domain where you have to pull rank and you aren’t sure how or you feel incompetent / impotent / weakened – It throws you off guard because as humans, we expect everything to always be on the up. Rising into a state of success. That is the only way, right? Wrong!

Because we as humans put limits and expiration’s on everything, we often don’t view them as cyclical normal parts of life. We don’t see that once we die or something dies, it transitions into something else thus considering the META version of ourselves as a totally normal part of life, our mortal bodies absolutely fear death and change because we have been so programmed to never question anything outside of the mundane box of mere 9-5 existence that we end up having a tremendous fear of living because we constantly walk around saying ‘life is short YOLO, you’ve only got one shot’ etc and while this puts an emphasis on the NOW and gets us to see the purpose of living to the best of our ability it also takes away the power of realizing where we all are in the now because a 20 somethings version of NOW, seizing the moment will look very different to a 60 somethings version where they might just want to sit still and be reflective of their NOW – You see, apparently it’s only applicable when we’re young and exuberant in our exalted dimension and domain not when we’re in a fall, aging and introspective

We have become terrified of ageing, of growing old and losing our power. We don’t like entropy because we cannot predict the results. We don’t like decay because it doesn’t smell good. Lets just pause for a moment and reflect. As earthlings, human beings, we have spent thousands of years learning how to cultivate and work the land. Let’s not focus right now on how it only took 2 generations to destroy all of that but, in that learning we found that creating compost (the process of decomposing organic material into nutrient dense soil) is exactly this. We have to use waste / dead material matter to transform it through a method of decay in order for it to become the nutrient rich soil we so require. Do you see how nature is telling us that everything is cyclical and that from death comes enriched fertile soil for us to use over and over

Why do the Gods covet mortal life? Because:

EVERYTHING IN LIFE TASTES SWEETER WHEN DEATH IS IN THE EQUATION

You are probably reading this thinking ‘you morbid weirdo’ – No, Im just getting you to think and feel outside of the box. It helps!

WHY ARE WE SAYING THIS? WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF THIS?

These concepts of life and death, exaltation’s and falls are with us every day and throughout every domain that often, we don’t get to chose or that just creep up and we have to play the game according to what circumstances we’ve been delivered into

Perhaps you’ve always been a CEO of a thriving company but all of a sudden, your business has a moral crisis and your staff decide to quit so your men down, left wondering WTF has gone wrong and you have to go deep into the dark to figure out why and learn how to reinvent yourself and your Business

Perhaps your a Mum and all of a sudden your sweet, precious, can do no wrong child walks out of her bedroom and instead of pink ribbons and pulled up lace socks she’s rocking striped knee-length rainbow socks and pair a cut up emo shorts. This is her transformation but it also affects you too because you have to learn how you feel about this, how you’re going to react and respond to this so………

UNCOMFORTABLE DOMAINS EVERYWHERE BUT………..

How they teach us to grow!

Crossing over thresholds – We do this ALL DAY LONG, each and every day of the year. There are so many moments where life throws us opportunities to grow and learn but often as humans, if they’re filled with pain and suffering, we don’t want to know about it. It’s too hard!

Let me share something with you that’s a little personal. Ok, so my eldest is 15. Shes a sweet girl. Quite shy and introvert until shes in the right crowd and then she comes alive. She’s yet to have a romance that does the same and I feel she wants to. She wants someone to have an incredible experience with. The feels and vibes of young love in all its throws, right.

But I said, you’ve also gotta take the pain with the pleasure and she didn’t understand. I said, young love is bittersweet. You have all the fun and wildness but, this is also when you learn about trust, acceptance rejection, connection, boundaries, play, offside, foul, sharing and caring.

The coupledom is great when its great but when there’s a red card and one hurts another, which is often the case in young love (and older love but by then we hope we’re more experienced) but in young love, when the pain creeps in, it can be mortifying. Literally earth shattering and blisteringly painful. I remember it well. Thinking and feeling like life would never be the same again but, through that pain comes incredible transformation because you realize that actually, you didn’t die, you survived and throughout that agony of what you’ve experienced, the next time around you become far more conscious and vigilant about repeating the same mistakes or making sure you don’t let the same mistakes happen to you.

I’ve explained it before about my first big love, Anthony and the connection to Romeo and Juliet, but if you’ve not yet heard the love story, here’s the low down:

Here’s an extract from my book “Mighty Aphrodite” where I concluded the chapter on Romeo and Juliet with this final little love memoir:

“Now, before I move on to the next LOVE DUO, I want to spend a moment having a bit of a retrograde back to my first ever serious love, Anthony. We were 17 /18 I believe? It was 1997 and I was living in Chichester studying art. He was studying Business. 2 very different people yet how I loved him though I suppose I was so young I wasn’t really sure what that meant. Yet, it was the year that Baz Luhrman’s ROMEO AND JULIET was coming out and I was beyond excited about this and let everybody know!

Romeo and Juliet has always held such magic to me for as long as I can remember and this boy, WOW, he made serious efforts to bring the romance here. For my 18th birthday, he went into blockbuster video rentals and PURCHASED their ONLY rental copy of the movie. He paid a pretty penny for their only copy so that I could have this tale of LOVE

Do 18 year old boys still do this? I was blown away and still to this day as a middle aged woman I tell this story to people because it was an act of TRUE LOVE from someone so young and impressionable. 

We didn’t last but we’re still friends. Time and distance got in the way yet he once gifted me a teddy bear, FATTY it was called, to hug and hold in his absence. I still have that teddy bear today and my youngest looks after it for me

A love I remember fondly and only hope my own daughters get to experience something similar! Anthony, you were an absolute sweetheart, my first true love!”


AN ODE TO YOUNG LOVE

Aw, I was from the North and Anthony was from the South so our love didn’t last and when it ended, oh my word the pain! The tears, the nights reading the same letter over and over – Reminds me of the Diana Krall song LOVE LETTERS, memorising every line, analysing every comma, exclamation mark, counting kisses…….But I wouldn’t have changed a thing! I remember it all with so much love and fondness. I felt into it all!

IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES!

So, I said to my eldest, teenage love or young love is incredibly bittersweet. It’s like the song BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY, a song that reminds me of my 1st love so much from a much simpler yet brutal time

No change, I can’t change
I can’t change, I can’t change
But I’m here in my mold
I am here in my mold
But I’m a million different people
From one day to the next
I can’t change my mold
No, no, no, no, no

I CAN’T CHANGE MY MOLD – We’re all here playing our roles with all our attached beliefs and conditions. Trying to change but cant? SO:

Well I never pray
But tonight I’m on my knees yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airways are clean and there’s nobody singing to me now

The purification of life is in the realisation that life is death and vice versa. There is nothing to fear but that the fear of the uncertain inevitable is what prevents you from growing and only when we grow can we BREAK THE MOLD

So I want my kids to feel the bitter sweet pain of love and life. It is what makes your soul come alive. My husband really isn’t this kind of person. Anything that’s deep, complex or painful he absolutely avoids and wants nothing to do with and I keep saying over and over, but that’s life.

I’m like his worst nightmare of a mirror. I’m often sure he wonders why on earth he ended up with me because I am relentless in not letting people get away with facing the consequences or owning their mishaps, taking accountability. Yeah, when things need seeing, I dive down deep and drag it all out from the murky bottom and often he’s like ‘Was that necessary’ and I’m like ‘Yeah absolutely cos its our only way out’

This is life guys! It’s all a big lesson and test to see if we’ve learned the lessons but you can’t always just have easy questions that require easy answers, Sometimes the questions are complex. Sometimes you can’t even read or see the question, you just have to feel your way around it and hope you get it right. Sometimes you keep getting in WRONG, WRONG, WRONG AGAIN but then in old age you have the reckoning and you’re like WOW YES, I finally get it because the older and wiser we become, the more able we are to see the bigger picture

If you can connect through the dualities of life and death, pain and pleasure, happy and sad, exalted and fallen then you are bringing balance. You cannot have just one without the other for they are eternally bound and inextricably linked

So, We’ve been doing a lot of work in the realms of HR WORK LIFE BALANCE where a big focus point has been on age demographics and attempting to seek equality and fairness across the age demographic. Its tough because within the standard framework of mundane employment, everyone’s expected to pull rank and perform in the same capacity with the same resources but, a 20 something will have bags more energy and exuberance than that of a 50 something that’s been there, done that and is now frankly exhausted.

It’s this message of potency V impotence. It’s not necessarily a bad thing it just is what it is but we’re never allowed to consider that any of it is normal. It becomes frowned upon or shamed when someone falls impotent (I’m not just referring to sexually though that too) but all too often we see and hear the younger ones go

‘Oh look at Barbara, she hasn’t quite got it like we do. Come on Barbara pull your socks up slacker’ but poor Barbara’s 59. Shes raised 3 kids, come home nightly to cook, clean and raise her family. Shes now menopausal which naturally slows her down. She’s put on weight because of this which again, naturally slows her down……Does the framework acknowledge this or honor her exaltation’s and falls? NO

WE MUST ALWAYS BE EXHALTED – EXHALT OR DIE!

It is awful to not feel vital. To feel like you’re expiring but, rather than looking at it like that, can we not start to challenge the framework and find ways to make use of the older gens maturity, experience and wisdom for what its worth?

Can we not open up new structures to allow for everyone to fit in where they can energetically and vitally fit in?

We had this really fun conversation a few weeks ago where one of the guys in one of our HR round tables said something along the lines of this. He had been listening to a podcast about how our energy levels as humans are at their peak from 10am to 12pm and then again at 3pm to 5pm (something like that my timings may be off) but he basically went on to say that he has observed this to be true in his work place but, that the older ones don’t rise again in the afternoon. They have the morning peak but then they’re done. So he suggested that the older ones only work the mornings and that everyone gets an afternoon siesta to recharge with the younger ones coming back in the afternoon to carry on.

Someone asked him about pensions and salaries. How then would it work for the older ones cos they only get paid for the hours that they do so he went on to say

‘Well isn’t that the fault of the framework? why punish someone because of their age abilities. That’s discrimination. We should be looking at ways to slowly reduce hours and phase people out of the working field rather than hard hill climb and a continual high flatline until the day they retire. Stop looking at it like that. They’re still useful, highly valuable but not if you exhaust them and then blame them for it.”

He went on to say that the younger gen should pick up the slack and take on most of the hard end labor whatever that looks like – It has to have value and purpose but let them carry the weight. They’re younger and stronger. Then when they get older, they will have more wisdom and knowledge for having been the ones earlier on to figure out the complexities, challenges, exaltation’s and falls, potencies V impotencies etc

THE HEROES JOURNEY!

It’s our to create but, we can’t create it alone. It’s a co-creation where everyones input is valuable whether old or young, dead or alive.

Most people I have learned my most valuable life lessons from are not from my timeline. They are historic figures, philosophical leaders, Gods, mythological egregores, ghosts, spirits, past versions of myself, future versions of who I hope to become. They are you, me, us, them all combined into one timeline available to us to learn and grow

There’s poetry in the order. It’s mostly boring, black and white marching structure never out of sync but every now and then there’s utter bliss in the climbing of the military order to the top of the pinnacle where you can see Jerusalem spanning the green and pleasant land and in our hearts we know….. just like there is poetry in chaos. The wheel of order has kept us all safe and comfortable but when it breaks, and it is, the madness provides us with nothing but endless opportunity, potential, a life that after it has spiraled so far out of control, crashing into everything and everyone around it it might have collected some fractured soldiers along the way, some corpses to bury, some broken hearts and souls to mend but my God we mend them, we heal them, we stand strong we move on…..

Don’t be afraid of change. Don’t be afraid of yourself. Don’t be afraid to fight for what you believe in or don’t believe in. Don’t be afraid to change your mind, challenge your beliefs, ditch it all and start again!

DON’T BE AFRAID

I will leave it here for now. I’m hungry and my 45 year old body and brain can only cope with a few hours of morning writing before I need to creak the bones down the stairs and slowly make everyones breakfast. I’m trying to train my kids to make it for me but they’re not quite there yet and my critical older self while I love that they try because PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT and all that, isn’t ok with soggy cereal or dry toast so…….

WE PICK OUR BATTLES

My goodness how I love the differences of us all. Our ages, our races, our backgrounds, beliefs etc. Wouldn’t it be just so boring if we were all the same!

BURNOUT – WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE?

This is going to look different for EVERYONE? WHY? Because, we are ALL DIFFERENT!

Here’s a bit of a quick audio ramble about my personal story from back when I was in my 20’s and how my work ethic and energy has differed and changed since then – It’s relevant to listen to older people that have had the experience and gone through the burnout that now, in their middle age can stand up and say, ENOUGH! Things need to change? How can we make this change to accommodate everyone

WHERE IS LOVE?

Well, what a deep one! The tears have rolled today

This is a very emotional and sentimental little timeline journey back to the tales of Oliver Twist as I have said, a lot of what we are covering over the next few months as we prepare for our MIRROR MIRROR WORKSHOP and asking ‘who we truly are’ we are using art, literature, music, film and so on in the hope that the timeline exploration can get us to tap into emotions, feels, versions of ourselves from way back when where we can connect and reflect a little on things that are hugely important

I was sat working with my daughter this morning going over a survey set up for some public questioning for our channel and in the background we had Breakfast at Tiffany’s playing and during a break in the movie, Oliver’s song ‘WHERE IS LOVE’ came on and man, the tears….

So, I have recorded a little something resonant to this specific question that Oliver was asking 40 years ago and as in the recording you will notice, we’re all still here seemingly asking this same question so, give it a listen and please, ask yourself, where is love? How can you show up more and be present? How can you give and receive more love? What does love mean to you?

WHAT IS HEALTH AND WHAT IS HEALTHCARE?

A fine morning to you all

This might seem like such an obvious subject matter that possesses an obvious answer but, I would like to spend a moment or two sparing a thought on the topic is ‘WHAT IS HEALTH?‘ and ‘WHAT IS HEALTHCARE‘ because, as all of us have come to learn, there is an undeniable shift in the operational functions of the world and all systems involved and I think that in order to navigate through the shifts in a way that benefits everyone, we really have to start understanding a number of things with regards to these changes and why they’re happening. Obviously, that’s not so simple and straight forward but, it concerns us ultimately otherwise there would be no need for systemic involvement of such kinds so, we really need to start paying attention to the how’s and why’s on a personal and communal level

So, first and foremost, ‘WHAT IS HEALTH‘? I have spent the past 2 weeks whilst researching for this article reaching out and asking family members, friends, colleagues and those within my community this seemingly simple question. I DID NOT prompt them with suggestions or pointers I simply asked the question. The answers came in as follows:

  • TOP OF THE LIST – Health is the absence of disease
  • Health is when we are physically functioning at our best with no illness
  • Health is when we are in alignment and all is working well
  • Health is wealth
  • Health is everything

Ok, so those were the responses I got back from say 30 ‘on the spot’ questions, as I said with no guide or prompt, just ask and answer. The top response being the most popular with over 50% of those asked answering this in whichever format it came across – HEALTH IS THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE

So then, I guess we have to ask ‘WHAT IS DISEASE?’ According to ‘Britannia’, the definition of disease is: “Disease, any harmful deviation from the normal structural or functional state of an organism, generally associated with certain signs and symptoms.” – Isn’t it sad that most of us then, in accordance to this definition could consider that we are not ‘healthful’ as most of us could admit that whether a mere headache or sinus infection to brain tumor or autoimmune disease, we are more likely diseased than we are healthy.

A couple of days ago, our neighbor Steve came around for a cup of tea. He is in his 70’s now and from Canada. We live in the Mediterranean, central Europe and we were discussing the healthcare system where he has to pay in full aka no state covered support for him in any way because of where he is from and due to his ‘health concerns’ he is paying between 500 – 600 euros a month just for basic check ups and prescriptions. I asked this following question to my husband and neighbor Steve just to see what they’d say ‘Can you ever imagine living in a world where disease was obsolete and everyone was in fact healthy?’ – Clearly they both laughed at me 😦 ! What a ridiculous consideration- Steve doesn’t drink, he gets outdoors and is active as much as possible and eats a pretty well balanced diet. All the things so to speak that should constitute for a fairly health lifestyle yet still, he is considered unhealthy / diseased / sick / ill.

So what does it take become HEALTHY / EASED / WELL / BALANCED? It’s tricky isn’t it! Because for the most part, most would assume that the problematic concerns stem from a physical manifestation hence why we have signs and symptoms and can identify problem areas through physical appearances. But more often than not, the CAUSES of these physical manifestations are through other root channels such as

  • Our environment – Toxins, pollutants, aggressors that interfere with how our body is able to absorb nutrients + damage the nutrients we grow designed to nourish us in the first place
  • Our mental health and mental state – In this modern day and age, we are burnt out mentally through so much external stress caused by a heavy work load, cost of living crisis, financial burdens and world wide stresses ie wars, political / media related stress etc
  • Our emotional health – With all said above, add in the stresses of marriage and partnership stresses / other relationship stresses, the fact our current system encourages us to ‘not show emotion’ because it’s not the said and done thing in the work place (which is where most of us spend most of our time) therefore, we bottle up most of what we’re feeling without even knowing we’re feeling it – A numb and complacent society
  • Our spiritual health – Most of us haven’t got time to consider this side of life let alone attempt to understand it on a deep and interpersonal level. Most of us don’t even know we are spiritual beings because of how disconnected we are because we are merely moving through a numb and robotic existence being compliant to a ‘business model’ that benefits more from us being numb and compliant than it does of us being connected and aware, hence why all of the above cannot align itself towards its ‘normal and structural organic state of being’ ( The definition of ‘ease’ – the opposite of disease as quoted from Britannica above)

But we are so conditioned to believe that illness and disease is purely a physical manifestation because this is how it presents itself and due to this, the medical healthcare fields primarily hold a dominance and top tier presence in the spheres of overall healthcare, governing us like overlords because our minds, emotions and spirit have been hijacked through total confusion and disconnect thus allowing them to swoop in and have us believe that the problems are ‘physical’ manifestations therefore easy for them to control via “You have X and we can fix that with Y” solutions. If the problem were all in your head, heart or spirit rather, they couldn’t do so because there is no such problem to ‘see’ to fix. The healthcare system needs to be able to provably ‘identify‘ a physical concern in order to be able to convince you that they know how to fix it (All this said, the below part might shock you!)

The problem is however, and it is not so widely spoken about, is that ALL physical manifestations start at a cellular level and are direct results of either a) environmental problems b) mental manifestations (stress, worry, anxiety, depression, fear, grief, etc) c) Emotional concerns (As above, grief, sadness, loneliness, fear, trauma, guilt, shame etc) d) Spiritual disconnect – A feeling of not knowing self / purpose / purity / alignment / connection to life

When we are disconnected to all of the above, we become sick, ill, diseased. The solution to healing all of these things however, is not and cannot ever be found in our current healthcare system. You can never heal yourself via any form of practice put in place by a standard general medical practitioner, veterinarian or governing healthcare body. These practitioners are put in place to manage sickness and illness caused by things they know absolutely nothing about healing. It is by design that we are misaligned and diseased.

So, with all of this ‘in mind’, what needs to happen or what can we do to start to ‘FLIP THE SCRIPT?’ and baring in mind that most of the team here at SomaLife and Fortis One Health all work within the spheres of the current medical and veterinary professional sectors so we are by no means aiming to attack the system but what we are saying, when we get to the nitty gritty s below, are that there needs to be MORE mainstream available options for EVERYONE and that HEALING needs to be allowed to also move up to the top tier, with things that are not necessarily ‘medically proven‘ (and medically proven will be something we focus on in depth below) to work but are suitably effective assisting tools of practice that can accompany mainstream practice on a wider and gentler available scale.

What do I mean? Well, firstly, if you need to have surgery or life saving treatment for whatever reason, please do so. This message is not to discourage anyone from standard medical practice for treating serious conditions but, it is important to highlight that for minor illnesses or conditions, the answer is not to stand in queue in an overflowing doctors waiting room for antibiotics for a virus. When we speak of saturated healthcare services, this is what we refer to where people have become so afraid of illness and disease because of the hype caused by such mainstream topics we see across the global headlines that people then lose touch, faith and understanding in their own bodies, minds and spirits and ability to heal themselves from non major complications that arise. At the first sign of anything that feels uncomfortable, many rush to the doctor and often, for things such as coughs and colds, they are begging doctors for antibiotics to solve the problem.

I can’t speak for other regions but in the UK it became a huge concern over the last decade in particular that people were being prescribed many types of medication without really requiring it such as Analgesics, Antiarrhythmics, Anticoagulants, Antibiotics, Antidepressants, Sedatives, Statins and so on. Have you noticed how most are called ‘ANTI’ – This suggests that it is working ‘against’ something. More often than not, the ROOT CAUSE of what the treatment is aiming to work against can a) be treated naturally, gently and often without any form of intervention (aka your body can heal itself – this requires you to trust its ability to do so) and b) the ROOT CAUSE needs to be known in order to establish what it is you are aiming to treat

ROOT CAUSE

This is one of the most CRUCIAL elements of WHY we are at this tipping point where we have come to realize that how we have been treating health for so long now no longer works and why we are looking to call in other options. The ROOT CAUSE of most common diseases and illnesses simply cannot be found, and without knowing the root cause, there is no way of truthfully knowing how we need to heal specific disorders.

Based on ALL of the above, what do we notice?

The ONLY known causes of ANY disease stems from bacterial and viral transmissions, meaning that all diseases listed above ASIDE from infection diseases have NO KNOWN CAUSE other than suggested

Genetic influence is a big one to pick apart. A team of psychologists, anthropologists and social science experts also need to include their input here as this specific field of research requires more than just medically scientific input. As mentioned above it must be COLLABORATIVE so we cannot have top tier professionals stating anyone other than them know what they’re talking about. There’s no place for EGO’s in health solutions

Environmental influence is also a HUGE topic as it then requires us to assign environmental health and safety specialists, civil engineers, foresters, air pollution and quality control scientists, water management scientists, sustainable agriculture specialists, hazardous poison control and zoonotic experts all trained to understand microbiological and chemical contacts between humans and animals

Trauma related injuries speak for themselves. We are all accident prone individuals. Things happen!

Stress and emotional influence – This is hugely undervalued and under appreciated. Again, this requires more assistance than medical science experts can possibly offer as it requires a change in how our systemic influence is designed aka work / life balance, cost of living, lifestyle management, past trauma therapy, etc. These things require proper trauma informed counselling or assisted support, trustworthy top tier management via political re-structure, local management and resources, community support and assistance and a change in how we value our lives and the lives of others from an ethical and moral viewpoint. (THIS IS NOT MEDICAL)

We can see how ALL of the above (aside from infectious diseases –  I will get on to that in a moment) have NO KNOWN CAUSE yet suggested risk factors are all based on the above (Genetic and environmental factors, emotions and trauma) So the question is:

What is so harmful about our environment that causes such catastrophic diseases? What are we doing so wrong here?

I think it’s time we seriously ask government officials and those in management positions of our water boards what is in the water?

I think it’s time we seriously ask government officials and those in air quality control what’s being pumped into our skies and polluting our atmosphere?

I think it’s time we seriously ask government officials and those in Agri-control management /Pesticide manufacturers what is being sprayed on our crops, land and used in our farms that is damaging our food supplies and soil / fertiliser ph

I think it’s time we start to look at our own lifestyle management and look at how we are protecting ourselves against known and yet unknown sources of environmental damage and pollution. Making sure we get sufficient sunlight, sleep, movement, minimal stress, nutrient rich food, clean undamaged water, proper sanitation etc. Making sure we take control of our own lifestyles by reducing things we know create complications such as alcohol, smoking, drugs or both medical and illegal sources, processed foods etc. I think its time we created safe and sustainable local communities so that everyone within the community has resource enough to  sustain a healthy lifestyle

It must also be stressed that alongside most cardiovascular diseases, MEDICATION AND THE SIDE EFFECTS THEREOF are listed as one of the highest risk factors, so why are we still medicating ourselves relentlessly for illnesses with unknown causes?

HOW CAN WE TREAT SOMETHING WE DO NOT HAVE A KNOWN CAUSE FOR?

How can there be that many diseases, illnesses, health concerns with NO KNOWN CAUSES? How are we living in a time where we have watched at least 2 generations of people disappear due to illnesses with NO KNOWN CAUSE? We are still no closer and yet, royal family members that now have cancer (with no known root case) have the answer for us all via a turbo cancer jab shortly to come on the scene as a saving grace. How can we have the solution to save us if we don’t even know the cause?

Mutations of any kind that then stem into disease all seem to originate from genes and environment in the case of such diseases but with INFECTIOUS DISEASES, all the diseases stem from transmission via person to person or animal to person root cause. And yes, you may get others by consuming contaminated food or water or being exposed to organisms in the environment. So again, it seems all disease seems to originate from our environment or from an animal or person host by which mutations occurring within each host stem from again, origins coming from gene or environmental factors, creating more and more mutations.

It seems that most P2P or A2P infections are harmless and the bodies natural anti-bodies will sufficiently assist the body to heal from any infection however, there are risks and complications from other transmittable infections that can cause issues. Those with compromised immune systems due to HIV, AIDS, HEP B + C and HPV are at higher risk of infectious disease. Those also with immunosuppressed concerns such as malnourishment, eating disorders and alcohol or drug abuse concerns are also at risk of contracting infections they cannot heal from

Where HIV, HEP B C, HPV came from is another source of environmental concern as all infectious diseases are born bacterial diseases stemming from animals to humans which again, raise concern and question, what is going on in our environment for such damaging transmissions to take place?

And it seems that age is on our side but only if we have strong immune systems but that also appears to look quite dubious given every disease we now know stems from environmental factors that damage our immune systems and leave us with so many debilitating issues that weaken us even further

The reason I point all of this out is because, as we are trying to establish ‘WHAT IS HEALTH’ we need to look at all of these things to see where, why and how our health has declined and who is in control of ‘controlling our health’ as it seems that so many stand to profit off all of us remaining sick. This is not why we’re here! I am not by any means trying to point fingers at X so we can roll in Y but there needs to be more than X available if X cannot even decide where most diseases come from yet we can manage to spend billions every year in ensuring they circulate and everyone knows about it!

X doesn’t speak once about prevention. The Doctors of X have no real understanding or education of real nutrition and lifestyle support / maintenance. They are not trained in natural science or any form of alternative practice and they would normally consider that pseudoscience but in a world where every single major disease yet has NO KNOWN CAUSE, I don’t really think that’s fair. I think it begs the question, what’s fake and what’s real and what on earth is going on?

CONCLUSION

We live in a world where every known major disease has NO KNOWN CAUSE. NO ROOT ORIGIN. NO ISOLATED HOST. Hence why for those in control, infectious disease is of such importance because it’s the only real way they can prove diseases to exist (although we should deeply question the authenticity of their origin). Everything else is the effect caused by environmental damage (we really need to ask why on many levels here), genetics (we don’t yet understand this because we have no real idea who we are and why and again, the answers to that won’t only stem from the ever domineering medical world, they will come from philosophers, anthropologists, historians and geneticists) and trauma (such is life) –

So the things that we really need to focus on are:

  • LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE: Making sure that we are suitably advised and supported on things like diet, movement, sleep, supplementation, emotional health, mental health, spiritual health and more. We’re getting there
  • COMMUNITY SUPPORT – Making sure that things become localised instead of centralised and that within all small local communities there is SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. Remember, we are all different. What works for you might not work for me. Implementing food banks, FREE gym memberships, access to public pools and spas, drop in centres for social connections. Village halls and town halls open for all to host wellness events such as :Yoga workshops, sound bath workshops, round circle chat groups and talk therapy sessions. Rehabilitation centres for those that need physical support – including massage, physiotherapy etc at LOW COST. Community groups to support the elderly that come from within the local area where the elderly and the youth can all get involved together. Local walking groups. Spiritual youth groups. Youth centres and spaces for the young to spend time safely together. Market stalls and local produce resources for each local area. Community food events. Cooking for everyone from local food supplies at LOW COST. FREE local transport for everyone of every age to local destinations. FREE deliveries for all foods, supplies and medical to every age within the local vicinity. Make things affordable and available locally so that people do not have to worry about the COST OF LIVING and can all support each other more in engaged and safe communities. New ways to educate children. Learning zones and incentives that focus on hands on learning. Nature zones, community animal hubs, wildlife areas, ponds, nature reserves, green areas etc where everyone can get involved. Areas for children with learning zones, fun zones, activity areas etc all supported by local people. When everyone knows everyone and has a say and a place in society it becomes a healthy society. Those that don’t want to participate will still get looked after
  • ONE HEALTH IMPLEMENTATION – Considering that the ONE fundamental issue surrounding our health is ENVIRONMENTAL then we need to make sure that our primary health concerns be those of our environment so that it does not make us sick. Replace current medical workers (overpaid GP’s, consultants, vets, dentists etc) under the current overflowing system with ONE HEALTH PRACTITIONERS – Environmental scientists, Medics, Infectious disease specialists, Homeopaths, Nutritionists, Social health workers, Psychologists, behavioural specialists, counsellors / therapists, Engineers, resource managers, Community and project planners, Food and water scientists, microbiologists, Vets, Animal health workers, Nurses, Teachers, Farmers, Support workers, Community leaders, Care providers, Course providers etc, Finance managers.

HEALTH, as we have come to see has been hijacked by a broken system. One that is in desperate need of reform and restructure and one that CAN ONLY BE FUNCTIONAL if it is authentic and integral towards our actual needs and requirements. This doesn’t just involve frontline doctors and practitioners anymore as it seems they’re just there to keep selling us sickness. That keeps us all separate. There is no separation. Separation causes sickness. It needs to come from EVERYONE at all levels, ages and statuses as it is evident that the very definition of health is INCLUSIVE – CONNECTED – ABSENT OF DISEASE! And if disease as we have come to learn is stress, depression, emotional etc – How do we change the way we operate to make sure that people are no longer stressed, traumatised etc? SEE ABOVE

So I go back to the question I asked my neighbor Steve and my husband – ‘Can you ever imagine living in a world where disease was obsolete and everyone was in fact healthy? – After reading this and finding out that all our major diseases have NO KNOWN CAUSES, and that the principal reason for ANY sickness is our ENVIRONMENT then how do we create a healthier environment? SEE ABOVE, if it came down to something as simple as re-structuring our environment, re-creating a healthy environment, what would you put in to enable that? Or what would you take out? If you could have your say (and you can, YOU SHOULD) What would you say? What would you do? Because health comes down to each and every one of us. We have the key to answer this not just doctors, big pharma, politicians and frontline workers. Within our environment we ALL get to have a say.

But it starts with a vision – Please spend a moment envisioning a health local community.

LET’S START TO MAKE THE WORLD HEALTHY!

THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSONS A SCHOOL CAN OFFER – NO TEACHING REQUIRED

When I was younger, 11 I think, I was at school and I remember it was a freezing cold day and we were huddled into our new classrooms for a storytime. The classrooms had just been finished and we were all excited about all the ‘new stuff’ that just had to be fiddled with, fondled and explored. New furnishings, beanbags, paintings and pictures. That smell of ‘new’ taking over and filling us all with mad inspiration and excitement. 

I remember going over to a new sideboard where there was a collection of books and a cast iron radiator underneath it which I suppose looking back, is what drew me in. I spent some time there, most probably in one of my procrastinating trances and I remember running my fingers over all of the books before settling on one, a book on Canada where the front cover grabbed me because it reminded me ot the scene outside the very window I was stood facing but in a far more elaborate and extreme sense so I picked it up and went and sat down on a beanbag, flicking through page after page of beautiful stories and pictures of a rural part of North Easter Canada.

The story was being narrated by a young girl, maybe my age or a year or two older (although the book was written some years before) and she was taking us through her daily life in the town that she lived in. Please bear in mind that I am 44 years old now and at the time of reading this book and I only read it once, I was 11 and I can remember every detail of the pictures on every single page. I can’t quite remember the story and I’ll tell you why, because I am not sure if the story the girl was telling was hers, or if it was one I made up myself based on her pictures that gave a ‘feeling’ of what she was telling me but, I distinctly remember being so mesmerized by this book because it was entailing very visually the story of another child’s life across the world that was so very different to mine. 

I remember looking at photos of her and thinking she was breathtaking. She looked like a bright blonde inuit. I suppose what we consider Finnish people to look like with their almost Asiatic qualities but with highly nordic primary features. As a child, you always look at the quirky qualities of others (or at least I did) and try to find connections that attract you. Everyone that has curly hair wants straight hair, everyone that’s short wants to be tall etc, it’s how we compare ourselves to find our place and it’s such an exciting part of the self adventure discovery but I was bewitched by this girl and desperately wanted to be her friend. A mere few pictures and I had conjured up a new best friend across the world based on the stories she had to share that captured my imagination and interest.

I remember her describing how she would wake up every morning and come down for a hot breakfast with her 2 dogs. Husky looking things that would sit next to her while she ate. A huge fire next to her table and she had her bright blond hair in strict smooth plaits, a native woven jacket and and suede and leather snow boots pulled up to her mid shins to keep her legs warm.They had toggles on them. I wanted boots with toggles on them. Then she would walk to school through the snow forest with her father and help him to collect wood on the way. And at night time she would help her family in the house, all in one room, the blankets stood out to me as I imagined how warm and cozy they would feel in that cold, next to the fire eating bison stew and potatoes. 

Where I am going with this is that years later, I am long done with school, but these small moments of seeming insignificance remain to this day far beyond the ‘on repeat’ math lessons or’ same same’ english or science classes. Drilling doesn’t really work for long term memory recall. It just leaves dull bruises but what really imprints and leaves its mark are the lessons that touch our soul. 

For me, those lessons were ones that weren’ really lessons but taught me more about life than any of the actual lessons deemed to be important. The ones where my eyes opened to the world around me through pages in a book. 

This is why I am so desperately determined to encourage children to read read read books of any kind. To become inspired and excited about the world around you in its true form. To not be swayed or distracted by what big bad wolves deem important but to stay gold in your quest for knowledge and truth. The world around you never lies and will always hold it’s truths for you to seek if you wish

As I write this, my 10 year old daughter is watching a video online (I wonder if she’ll remember snippets and clips she sees now in 30 years time) but she is pausing to tell me a ‘fact’ about how if a black bear comes towards you, you have to fight back, when a brown bear ‘grizzly’ comes towards you you must lay down and play dead but if a polar bear comes towards you, you might as well stand still and watch your fate because you stand no chance. She then says ‘black, fight back- brown, lay down -white, stand in fright’ – As an observer of the natural world, of people and in particular of children with a curious innocence, I honestly tell you, the ONLY thing that children desperately WANT to learn when all is said and done, is HOW THE WORLD WORKS.

 Not the one that lies to us about economy, media and Business – Profit and productivity nonsense! NO, they want to learn about real world topics. How the stars and planets rotate and shine, how the food grows, how the rivers flow, what lives under the sea, what lives up that tree, where chocolate comes from, how to light a bushfire, how to bore for water, how to bake biscuits and cook stew (just like the one on that photo my canadian best friend was eating) how to communicate with animals, how to make your own medicine, how to sew your own leather boots, how to make candles, how to look after the elderly, how to play a flute, how to hike up a mountain, how to document all the things you saw on the way, how to work in teams, how to problem solve, how to dig a pond, how to sleep outdoors, how to turn all of that into stories and poems, how to read them aloud to your community, how to paint them into pictures and wondrous works of art

Why are we not teaching these subjects in school to our children? Why are they not deemed important? Because to me, they are all that is important

Our next article is going to be on the topic of ‘HEALTH’ and what that means. It might seem obvious, a bit like why we go to school but actually, it’s quite complex and covered with the the veil of ‘disease’ to dominate its entirety but, we are going to go deep into the findings of health and what it means for all of us – IN an ever changing world, it’s essential to BE THE CHANGE

MELATONIN – THE DARK HORMONE

WHO HAS HEARD OF MELATONIN?

Ok, so as we venture into the depths of the world of SLEEP and why on earth we sleep at all, one of the most talked about and most widely used / perhaps most overused sleep aids is a little thing called ‘Melatonin’

HANDS UP IF YOU’VE HEARD OF IT?

We have reached out and spoken with many professionals and experts in the field of hormones and cyclical principles, especially in women’s health where we have touched base with super leaders such as Jenn Pike and Krista Cumming, where they discuss openly about various hormones and paying particular attention to the hormone melatonin. This next segment will be the scientific reveals of what melatonin is and the part it plays alongside various other antioxidants and hormones that make us US. Please pay particular attention to the mention of the pineal gland and its value in a spiritual sense also.

Melatonin, known chemically as N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine, is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland located at the base of the brain that helps regulate sleep and wake cycles. This hormone is a derivative of the neurotransmitter serotonin and the amino acid tryptophan. (Tryptophan, for example present in food such as turkey and potatoes, sends you off to sleep better after eating them as they help trigger the hormone in to secretion – Why people enjoy a snooze after a Christmas day lunch) The pineal gland is also what is responsible for our awakening state of consciousness. Often referred to as the third eye, the seat of the soul, or the epicentre of enlightenment; the pineal gland has been something of a mystery when it come to science, yet this small gland in the brain has earned high praise amongst many esoteric / mystical  schools of thought as being quintessential to spiritual development.

What’s even more fascinating is that the pineal gland is not just an important concept to one or two cultural traditions, but is applauded for extraordinary abilities to raise consciousness among a variety of cultures all over the world.

Not only is the pineal gland a praised tool for spiritual enlightenment, but scientifically it has many special properties that make it quite unique when it comes to the human physiology. Roughly just the size of a pea, the pineal gland not only receives the most blood flow of any organ in the body, minus the kidneys, but it is one of the largest producers in the body of the all important chemical serotonin. So you see how when we speak of how the solar flares and cosmic rays have a vital impact on our health and the effects that that has on our spiritual connection and universal frequency, it is a pretty big deal that we focus on maintaining a healthy connection to this gland and its secretion. It is also worth noting and I will do an entirely separate post about this as it’s a very deep topic but, the secretion of fluid is also what activates what is known as your Christ consciousness, so as we move in to Aquarius and away from structured doctrine and towards self-governed spirituality, your body will change to become more Christ – Aligned. It is said by the highly spiritual that we will live in Crystalline bodies to match the less dense frequencies that can also work better with the sound light tech and solar minima inevitability. Crystalline – Christ Align….The anointed one via a secreted serum in the brain. WOAH! Carry on please about why brain hormone production is crucial…

ROLE AS A SLEEP REGULATOR


Our bodies have their own internal clocks that help regulate the natural cycle of sleeping and waking hours (circadian rhythm) by controlling the production of melatonin. Usually, the levels of this hormone begin to rise in the mid- to late evening, remain high for most of the night, and then decline in the early morning hours. According to the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms, approximately 5-25 mcg of melatonin are secreted into the blood stream of healthy young and middle-aged men at night time.

Natural production is greatly affected by light. That is why during the shorter days of the fall and winter months, melatonin production may start earlier in the day. This change can lead to symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), or winter depression, when some people feel more tired and they need more sleep. Natural melatonin levels decline gradually after the age of thirty. Some elderly people produce very small amounts of it or none at all.

ROLE AS AN ANTIOXIDANT


Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant that can cross cell membranes, cross the blood-brain barrier, and it plays a role in stimulating other antioxidants – this makes it a truly unique antioxidant. It is considered more powerful than vitamins C, E and A, because it is soluble in both fat and water and can enter cells that vitamins cannot. Unlike other antioxidants, it does not undergo redox cycling, which is the ability of a molecule to undergo repeated reduction and oxidation and regain its antioxidant properties (in other words, it cannot be recycled). That is why it is referred to as a terminal antioxidant.

So, we see that in order to activate this hormone and produce this powerful antioxidant, it can only be possible at night time. Hence then, why sleep is so crucial to our lives and a decent bedtime routine is an absolute must.

Melatonin has been shown to effectively raise glutathione levels in many tissues, such as the brain, liver, blood serum and muscles.

Each antioxidant plays specific roles within our bodies. One of the roles melatonin plays is in the protection of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA. Of course this requires some explanation first. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. It is found in the nucleus and in the mitochondria of the cell. DNA is the genetic material that is responsible for determining who and what we are. Nuclear DNA is the DNA found in the nucleus of the cell. Mitochondrial DNA is found within the cell; mitochondria are structures within cells that convert the energy from food into a form that cells can use. Click here for more information on Mitochondrial DNA. This is a lot of in-depth information about melatonin, but it is presented to stress how important of a role it plays in protecting our health.

DNA repair is a vital role in our health. The oxidative stress producing free radicals damages our DNA. The DNA is surprisingly resilient but it can function properly when damaged only to a certain degree. At some point, the damage becomes too severe and the cell starts duplicating itself uncontrollably. Our body recognizes this as a foreign cell (cancer or tumor) and attacks it. If our body’s attack is successful we are never aware it occurred. But if it is not successful we develop cancer. So, melatonin protecting DNA before the damage gets to this severe point is vitally important to the success of immune system in keeping our bodies cancer and tumour free.

As an antioxidant melatonin is a potent scavenger of free radicals. It has been studied extensively for the treatment of cancer, immune system disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, cardiovascular disease, and depression.

ROLE IN HEALING


Most of us know that we heal the fastest when we sleep: why? The answer to this question is not a straightforward answer. But a big part of the answer has to do with glutathione, antioxidants and melatonin.

Antioxidants eliminate free radicals and in cases like melatonin and glutathione, antioxidants can also repair DNA. So what is the relationship of these three things and how do they affect the healing process when we sleep?

To start, when we lack an antioxidant or are low on specific antioxidants, glutathione takes on their role (job, so to say) of eliminating free radicals. This tends to deplete glutathione supplies in the body, which then inhibits or slows down all the other roles that glutathione plays in our body – detoxification, DNA repair, recycling other antioxidants, transfer of energy from mitochondria to the cell, food for the immune system and as an immune system regulator.

When melatonin is produced, as an antioxidant it frees up glutathione (this is proven clinically). With the freeing up of glutathione, glutathione is then free to perform its other roles. Two of the most important roles are food for the immune system and toxin removal. The healing process is greatly inhibited by the presence of pathogens and toxins. So while this answer is not direct, by following the path of antioxidants, melatonin and glutathione, and understanding the interactive role they have with one another, we can see how melatonin production increases glutathione and in turn speeds the healing process.

WHAT DEPLETES NATURAL MELATONIN PRODUCTION?


Of great interest are the studies about the effect of light pollution on the production of melatonin and as a result, the impact on the metabolism, immune function, endocrine balances and the development of cancers.

Light pollution is the brightening of the sky at night by artificial lightning of highways, streets, malls, stadiums, homes, etc., also called urban sky glow. Retinal ganglion cells responsible for detecting light and suppressing melatonin production are most sensitive to blue/violet light.

The 2007 review published in the Journal of Pineal Research states that human exposure to low-level incandescent lightning for only 39 minutes suppresses melatonin levels upto 50%. As we stated above, melatonin stimulates Glutathione synthesis. Constant light exposure leads to melatonin deficiency which leads to decreased tissue Glutathione peroxidase activity and the promotion of oxidative stress.

Current evidence suggests, as noted in the review The dark side of light, exposure to the high levels of artificial light at night may play a role in cancer risk. Studies have indicated that melatonin exerts a direct effect on tumour growth and proliferation, and the increased risk of cancer was observed in patients with the brightest bedrooms. Multiple studies have documented a link between night shift work and an increased incidence of breast cancer.

Another factor that reduces melatonin production is certain drugs: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or naproxen (Naprosyn, Aleve); beta-blocker blood pressure medications such as atenolol (Tenormin) or metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol); and medications that reduce levels of vitamin B6 in the body (such as birth control pills, hormone replacement therapy, loop diuretics, hydralazine, or theophylline). Time to ditch this and bring in new ways that are way healthier. As we ditch the anti-biotics and the pain killers, lets reach for the tinctures and the herbs instead. They worked for thousands of years before our empirical dictators took the reins. Time to rise and bring it back.

THE BODY BRAIN CONNECTION THIS WINTER

I am just uploading a very brief post from the infographics shared over on social in case they don’t reach who they need to so, as mentioned over on insta, this winter, may we slow down and go softly within and just like a tree may we drop the leaves and branches that we no longer need to carry forwards into the new year

This is a time where we MUST allow our bodies to slow down, go inside and become soft and gentle for we cannot release if we are moving too fast and holding on tight to what no longer wishes to stay with us

The connection between the BODY AND BRAIN is something I speak about in various ways and almost throughout every post as while I am a pyschologist and the mind is of most interest to me, I am also very understanding and compassionate to my own body and it’s needs or rejections and I listen with intent and love to what it tells me,

INNER CHILD AND ADDICTIONS

HOW TO BECOME THE PARENT TO YOUR OWN INNER CHILD

So, here you are! An adult, probably with a job, family, commitments, responsibilities and all the rest that comes with being an adult but one of the things that comes with being an adult is often a collection of obsessive compulsive and addictive behavioral patterns and neurological imprints that we have, over the years, low and behold collected and stored within us.

The inner child not some funky term penned by some quack psychiatrist. It is a part of who you are and always have been. From when you were the fresh and young version of who you are now. A mini thing, feeling all the feelings and moving through life as children do and then evolving into the person that you are right now, but guess what? Those feelings don’t change. The way you interpret them often doesn’t change. The way you REACT to them often doesn’t change. That archetypal imprint of who we once were gets stored within us. I have spoken a lot about this within the pages of the book “DEAR CHILD” and how as we develop from childhood to adulthood, all of what steered us and created the person we become never left us. It is very present within us but it is deeply housed somewhere most don’t often think to look.

WITHIN THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

Ah, the subconscious mind – The elusive back burner of all your memories, archives and storage files that unless you are conscious and aware of how to ‘REPROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND’ these feelings will re-occur over and over and as adults, if we cannot find ways to cope or find safe zones to not only exist in but thrive in, we instead will seek solace and sanctuary with substitute complexities and bad habits such as compulsive disorders and addictions to ‘FILL THE VOID‘ because we cannot find the way back to the original memory templates and files that existed when we were younger. We don’t even have the first clue about where to look

This is when we become wounded, fragmented and disconnected. We seem to take external life in the now and go ‘Oh, well this is why I’m wounded and hurt’ and blame the bills, workload, parental stress, systemic confusion etc for all and any of our addictions or strange behavioral tendencies but actually, the ROOT CAUSE of all of our behaviors and how we respond to situations was something that was embedded and programmed within us as developing children. Those early days when our brains and bodies were new and open and however our childhood played out in terms of experiences, circumstances and situations then ended up becoming the wiring system to how we live our lives in the now and the only way to access that and do some DEEP REWIRING, is to go back to those memories, archives and files and have a look at the ORIGINAL MOTHERBOARD that wired you up in the first place.

This can be deep. This, depending on your experience as a child can be very raw and upsetting where a lot of the experiences you might have endured were put on the back shelf for a very good reason but unfortunately, if you want to do the great re-wiring and take a good look at where the fuses blew or the wired got burnt out you need to remember!

REMEMBER REMEMBER is something I have spoken a lot about over the last few years where a turning of the tides and a dawning of a new age was opening up right before our very eyes and in doing so, many of us started to awaken to our subconscious mindsets, thought patterns, beliefs etc and we started to spend time consciously looking to alter and re-correct a lot of what had been the norm for us with regards to our daily movements. For me, this shift really started back in 2012 where the girl I once was, party animal that grew up in Barcelona drinking, smoking, living the hedonistic lifestyle all of a sudden decided that no, the way to clear the paths required me to embrace a lifestyle of sobriety, inner peace through nature and grounding, looking at my diet and what foods I was consuming and making sure that I got enough sleep and quiet reflective time so that I could start to tune into a version of me that was far more connected and aware of the path I was following.

This new age wave of consciousness IS NOT one of talking to aliens, joining the UFO cult, giving your power away to false entities or savior gurus promising redemption or following whatever new age trickery mumbojumbo is for sale in the fast becoming mainstream collective of new age propaganda please note, it is a new wave of FINDING SELF and INNER PEACE that is acquired through deep reflection and an awakening of ones own consciousness through the healing and peeling back of trauma layers that have been collected and stored within you during the times of false light development where we were wired and set to move through life in a way by which trauma, thanks to systemic, environmental and circumstantial experiences could easily attach and embed itself within your very being.

If you grew up as a child that especially between the ages of 0-7 didn’t get the fundamental base lines set safely by responsible, caring, loving, guiding parents for whatever reason, then the chances are that as an adult, you will grow up to be doubtful, insecure and someone that attaches needs and emotional instabilities in places you can’t seem to break away from. This can look like taking on unsafe relationships in order to gain approval, surrounding yourself with false friendships so that you don’t get rejected or finding yourself filling voids with alcohol addictions, smoking, bad food habits and lifestyle choices all because you weren’t offered the safety zones and safe wired templates as a child

It can seem like a terrifying thing to try to re-wire your operating system and therefore every other system that is attached to it. I will word it like this as these days most of us are more familiar with computers and tech than we are the natural world so for better understanding of what I’m trying to say, let’s go with ‘WE’RE HUMAN COMPUTERS‘ so that it might make it more digestible as I go, but as I have explained in various other posts and podcasts and also throughout my book ‘DEAR CHILD, the body brain connection is something that is seeded throughout our youth and every thought, emotion and physical experience we have is based on how our ‘wiring system’ (our neurological nervous system connection) is set to play. We are all different based on our circumstantial experiences throughout our development, SURE, but the system functions are the same

If you were someone that suffered great loss as a child and you were offered safe, emotional guidance throughout that trauma as it happened your outcome as an adult will differ greatly to someone that suffered great loss and was not offered safe zones or emotional support. If you were someone that grew up in a very loving, protected and safe environment where you were encouraged to spread your wings but always knew you could come to a safe landing, your outcome as an adult will differ greatly to someone that did not develop in a loving, protected or safe environment therefore never had safe landings and probably never knew they had wings to fly

The reason I bring in these comparisons is so that you can reflect back on the childhood that you had and see if there were any areas of where you grew up that made you feel unsafe, vulnerable, exposed, under treat because chances are, if that was the case, you carry those wired threat responses with you and they’re hiding out in your back office waiting to either to re-wired or re-visited

I can tell you very openly, that even though I grew up in a childhood that on paper was a safe, loving environment, it was far from it for me. My parents divorced when I was 8 and as the eldest out of 3 children and a very highly strung, emotional child, I was often considered a ‘problem child‘ by the adults around me because they couldn’t understand themselves why I was the way I was. It wasn’t their fault because they themselves have their own traumas but I was desperate for safety, validation, approval and I didn’t seem to get it so as a teenager and young adult, I REBELLED! I was wild. I hold my hand up and admit to entering into some shitty friendships and relationships to ‘test the waters’ and see if I could gain approval from those that I knew were dangerous yet appealing. I tried drugs to expand my experiences and falsely connect with others not knowing this would take me further away from authentic, safe connections. I partied hard, closed myself off from genuine friendships because I didn’t know how to show them who I really was and I went through an ’empty shell’ of a life that might have seemed like fun but was far from it.

I met my husband after a long and broken relationship throughout my 20’s with a guy I really wanted to connect with but neither of us could. A testy 7 year relationship where I felt the confusion of language barriers, unwelcome by his family for the most part because I didn’t tick their boxes, vulnerable and exposed after a pregnancy and abortion that I couldn’t process and hugely resented him for where I felt I was blamed and shamed for the outcomes and after a number of years facing jealousy, insecurity and a general sense of ‘What am I dong here?’, we quit and I freed myself from the toxic longing for something to work that clearly wasn’t going to. After him and a few failed and pointless flings (not that many I might add), I gave myself space and time and after a year or so I met my husband and the moment I met him, I FELT SAFE. There was no drama, no expectation, no false light, no pretense. I could be me and I started seeing that I could open up and just flow with the authentic, real version of myself without the need to wear a mask. No judgement, abandonment, criticism or threat. In 2008 we got married and in 2009 our 1st daughter was born and as soon as she arrived, that was when my LIFE CHANGED.

All the ways I grew up came back to me. Hey no judgement either but my mum never breastfed me (her own choice that’s fine) and back in the early 80’s it was unheard of to co-sleep with your kids (I do feel my sleep was a major trigger as a child as I always needed to be with someone so my sister bore the brunt of my inability to sleep alone – Sorry Charlotte) but when my daughter came into this world and I became a mother, THAT is when my childhood traumas all came to the surface so I could heal them. I breastfed both my children for years and they both slept in with us and for me, this healed so much of what instilled fear in me as a child and gave me the ability to re-write my subconscious story so I was no longer afraid to sleep alone or fear the dark. These children, their very own little beings made me reconsider everything.

No, I won’t drink or smoke because they need me to be healthy and present and show up in ways that made them feel safe. No, I won’t eat shit because I want them to know what’s good for them and what isn’t. No, I won’t send them to their own rooms or let them CRY IT OUT ffs because I want them to know that if they want me they have me and that whenever they feel sad, hurt, confused, lonely, scared they’re never alone and there’s nothing to fear. The moment I took that approach for them, my whole world changed and all the fears and phobias I had as a child simply melted away and instead were replaced with feelings of connection, a renewed strength and a belief in myself. A confidence, pride and overwhelming gratitude for the journey I was on. An absolute game changer!

Listen, we all have our flaws. from 2009-2020, I went through a very slow and gradual rebirth, re-wiring myself and transforming myself into a butterfly. I used to say ‘I didn’t understand those that couldn’t quit smoking. It’s easy, you just quit’ – because back then, that’s what I did and for a purpose far greater than me. but then in 2020, a real awakening started and for 2 years, I slowly hit rock bottom. It was a rise and fall, rise and fall and all that I had grown to become started to trigger me again. A real test to see just how strong I was and if I’d really ‘learned the lessons’. I always used to say ‘You have to have a breakdown to break through’ and for the most part I truly do believe that though it sure isn’t fun but when you think you’ve got it all figured out and then another round of breakdown comes, in the form of life shattering events that are often out of your control, HAVE YOU REALLY LEARNED THE LESSONS?

You see, trauma isn’t a linear journey to complete. boxes checked, tick tick DONE (receives shiny trophy), it retrogrades back round and shows you the uglies over and over again. How you react or respond to this is everything. Have you really learned the lesson.

I am going to be honest, the relationship I have with my Dad is one I wish wasn’t so hurtful. I am very disconnected from my Dad and not because I wish to be and I am sure him either and without speaking out of terms for him as it’s his business not really to be shared, I know that he grew up with a horrendous amount of trauma and complex baggage that he hasn’t been able to shake off so, he seems to time and time again, pass it on to me. He is one of the biggest reasons I wrote my book ‘DEAR CHILD’ as I hope that by me healing me, I can also heal a little bit about whatever he’s going through, though when a situation comes back round to remind me of the darkness, pain, suffering and sadness that I feel because of his actions, I end up right back at square one and these last few years, that has been the case. Lights the cigarette and BOOM, the cycle starts all over again.

I haven’t seen my Dad since my 40th birthday on November 29th 2019. It’s been 4 years. I know that this has more to do with the fact that I live in a different country, the logistics there are obvious yet I have seen every other family member bar him. I cannot connect. There is a deafening silence between us and it hurts. I then also worry about how that silence makes my own children feel as they are the ones missing out on a shared life experience with him but I cannot heal his traumas for him. I can however, create pathways and portals that hold hope for him to heal so that somehow, somewhere we might get to share a space together that is far less painful but until then…….I forgive him of course but can I forget?

I share this because it is important to know that while we might think we’ve got it all figured out, there is always something to work on. There is always something that will happen that will make us feel emotions that are uncomfortable or that make us retreat and hide. How we react or respond is everything

I have spent the last few months really doing some deep work on affirmations. AFFIRMATIONS are a fantastic way to connect to your subconscious mind. By writing or drawing something out as either a statement or a sigil, you can literally tell yourself how to re-wire your mind

I AM PROTECTED

I AM WORTHY

I AM HEALTHY

I AM CONNECTED

I’ve often said over the last 2 years in particular, I feel like I’m on the wrong timeline. I’ve done my healing, why do I feel like this? Why am I so disconnected? I’ve blamed the place, I’ve blamed COVID, I’ve blamed my shift in circumstances only to realize that it comes back round to healing something from a timeline prior that I haven’t yet looked at so it can be re-written and re-wired. When I finished writing my book, I’d poured my heart and soul into going back through my trauma journey only to see that I was far from done. A couple of months ago, I started writing and speaking out affirmations as I saw the connection between the conscious and the subconscious mind and how the 2 need to be trained with awareness in order to SHIFT. I had done this before when the journey began but this time, I was doing it with INTENTION and deep awareness. You see, timeline jumping is a process of consciously creating your preferred reality. When the kids were born, I did this without knowing I was doing it. Now, I’m trying to get back to something that I have FELT before because creating the feeling of the desired outcome is what creates the shift but because I’ve been so stuck in lack mentality and shock over lifestyle changes over the past few years, I had forgotten how.

When doing affirmations, you are creating the feeling of the desired outcome. You have to know what it is you want (don’t waste your time thinking about what you don’t want) but by tuning into this signal of affirming your desire, you set about creating and manifesting that reality. Manifestations are a reflection of your subconscious mind so you’d better start speaking nicely to yourself and affirming situations you desire because those affirmations are a way of inserting new codes for your wiring to respond to. A new way of living. A new outcome that YOU created

And the moment you start to put these small measures in place and practice self-awareness and self-love, self-gratification, self-appreciation, your whole world changes and you can cut the ties on all bad habits, bad beliefs, bad programming. You FREE YOURSELF!

I am trying to make it sound simple because often, we are so stuck in our heads and we over complicate everything but really, IT IS THAT SIMPLE. Reflecting back over old emotions and wounds isn’t simple. That can be truly painful but it is necessary in order to conquer the steps and blocks and rise to the top. Just be careful and mindful in case you fall off again as I did and as we all do but,

SPOTLIGHT – THE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA EPIDEMIC

It’s Felicity Taylor here! Adding my 1st post for SOMALIFE for 2024 and very excited to be sharing some very superb, inspiring and innovative pieces throughout this year developing as we explore the timelines further and go way back to our past and have a vast look at our future. As a historian and an anthropologist that explores the realms in all senses from art and culture to society and development, I love to take bits and pieces of all our historical data and see how it all fits into the here and now

I spent a lot of time talking to my colleague, Kathryn Asher at the back end of 2023 where after reading her incredible book DEAR CHILD, we delved deep into the psychological and systemic history of our generational timelines and how, why and where came all this emerging stress and emotional trauma that seems to have risen so evidently to the surface over the last couple of years. It feels like we’ve been walking blindly in a fog of false reality now for so many years and all of a sudden, the fogs lifted and somehow, so many of us, whether we’re conscious of it or not seem to be mass emerging victims of this overwhelming emotional cascade of deep grief, sorrow, pain, anger, shock and worry.

As Kathryn says, it is deeply embedded in our past though without knowing how or why, we just tend to trudge along clearly hurt and conflicted by these feelings but suppressing them because we don’t understand them or we cannot see a way out of the tunnel of darkness as it is far too deep and wide.

I’m going to spend a bit of time talking about something that occurred to me last night as the TIMING of this funnily coincided with a specific event that prompted Kathryn to write a POST yesterday. She wrote about how she’d been awake all night the night of the 4th and that thanks to the energies of an unwanted house guest she had been inspired to write about the traumatic consequences of TIME and CUCKOOS based on some old dark fairy tales from years ago stemming from cuckoos and the black forest in Germany, the host region of the cuckoo clock where the deviant cuckoo would kill the eggs of neighbor nests to clock watch her own eggs being nurtured by the mothers of her pray. Where in this region and other parts of Europe, children were known to go missing within the forest that was far from the friendly place we often think it to be. A slight dark spin on a topic that ended with the light at the end of the tunnel but nonetheless, a start of 2024 spending some time peering down the tunnel of ritualistic child abuse that whether we want to admit it or not has played a big role in the trauma we have ALL collected over the years whether it has happened personally to us or not

So after reading Kat’s post and speaking with her briefly yesterday afternoon, my husband and I settled in for a quiet night and decided to watch a movie. “What should we watch?” I asked. And we ended up putting on a movie called

SPOTLIGHT

If you’ve never seen the 2015 movie “SPOTLIGHT”, I highly recommend you do. Pardon the image for the movie coming through in Spanish, I live in Barcelona and this is what comes up but I assure you its a USA CLASSIC! It centers around an investigative journalist division of a Boston Newspaper that is looking for a scoop on the child sex scandals deeply embedded within the Catholic church. It explains how the cases were buried by various insider lawyers and the church cutting deals to silence the abuse cases, paying off victims and families to stay silent. And while digging for names to hold accountable for their heinous wrong doings, the head of the investigation decides it is not worth going after a mere few names of problematic priests who have been allowed to get away with their crimes, the only way to make noise and make a difference is to prove that the problem is systemic and show that these priests have been allowed time and time again to inflict their wrong doings upon the vulnerable without consequences.

In aiming to prove this systemic endemic of child sex abuse scandal, the numbers of cases rise rise rise and the cases just get buried deeper deeper deeper, clearly showing that the system in control is not only enabling this mass abuse ritual but hiding any evidence of it happening so that on it may continue with one priest blatantly admitting to ‘fiddling with kids’ but justifying it by saying that ‘It didn’t give him any gratification’, pointing out that “That makes a difference you know”.

I sat and thought about this. How could an old man, quite sweet and harmless looking, that himself admits to having been raped justify his actions by saying ‘well, it was just fooling around. I never raped anyone and I didn’t get gratification. That makes a difference”. And then it occurred to me

This is brainwashing. They are somehow deeply conditioned to believe that unless their actions have flesh satisfaction they are not doing anything wrong and deem it normal to behave in such ways. This stance on such behavior is how it has been allowed to pass down. Victims become perpetrators become victims become perpetrators and the cycle goes on and on. This validation of such behavior is the way a sick society is allowed to continue to run, targeting the young and innocent so it seeds them with this satanic bowel disgust of shame and contempt that will forever be embedded within our psyche and souls. Without this behavior being brought to punishable justice it is the way the world functions. And it becomes normalized.

Even if you’ve never been subjected to such disgraceful forms of human suffering, be very assured that we ALL feel the implications of what has happened to children that suffer sexual abuse as it is embedded within our collective human psyche.

Kathryn takes a very clear stance on defending herself throughout her work on her book ‘DEAR CHILD’ where she makes very strong points towards SYSTEMIC ABUSE of all kinds to fight her case on trauma and throughout the whole of this movie, this is exactly what she is speaking about. The unabashed and glaringly obvious entitlement of a very sick society that is based on laws that do not favor human rights and systems created within the system that allows for abuse of MANY kinds to run riot through our absolute existence. The only way to stop this is to see it for what it is and say NO MORE!

‘We heal one we heal all‘ – Be the motto of 2024 where instead of allowing such heinous systems to control us and steer us towards their despicable paths of destruction, we can start to create our own paths based on safe spaces, protect and nurture our young and old, look at ways to better our communities where the people are in control and hold accountable those that wrong do us in any way whether that be the church, school, services, government you name it. We’re coming for you!

I though I would make a point of speaking up about this today as this movie hit high notes about everything we have spoken and written about over the last year, especially when it comes to safeguarding children and protecting their innocence as they’re the ones often targeted so that the wounds can run deep and how when it comes to trauma, that trauma that exists around us is for all of us to collectively clear because it isn’t just a case of MAN ON MAN it is a case of COLLECTIVE ON SYSTEM. It is very evident that it is now time to demolish the old one and build a new one. One where ethics, values, morals, principles, protection and innovation can take the center stage and for this to happen we ALL need to work together to take our place and create the new

So my message for the beginning of this 2024, is to please stand true to your values and ethics. Do no harm to others and love thyself so that we can all rise up as winners in the new world!

TIME- THAT TRICKY OLD THING PART 2

A LONG POST SO IF YOU’D RATHER LISTEN, AUDIO FORMAT BELOW:

It’s 4.57 am 5th January 2024. According to who? Who knows, or well actually, some of us do know. The victors from the last battles always get to set the tone and the time and our calendars according to their desired playbook. Great, if your calendars are set to work for you and not against you and we can all move forwards in a rhythmic flow but for the last 2 years in particular, there has been a January movement that has put to serious test the very question of our Gregorian Calendar and its vitality and worth

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t make such a point of dissecting the calendars and I’m not going to go too deep into this here as with anything in life, the only constant is change and back and forth we go through this evolving flow of exactly that so I’m not too stressed out with the concept of it. That’s easy enough for me to say though for this is a topic I’ve had some years exploring both analytically and intuitively as way back when when my body and mind started calling me to retreat from the outside world in, I learned to reset my ‘BODY CLOCK’ to become a tiktok device that was more in tune with nature and the natural world around me. A DECADE in the making was this fine tuning of my body clock. tiktok tiktok….Can’t sleep – Find the cedarwood and chamomile. Can’t wake up – Pop the peppermint and go for a brisk walk. Hungry – Chicken broth. Thirsty – Green tea. Stressed – Hug a tree. Sad – Hug a person. Lonely – Read a book. Stretch as the sun rises and child pose as the sun sets. Listen to the sound of the river and birds. Smell the fields (I am a self confessed weirdo that loves cow poo) Even start to make your own salves and balms out of cow stuff (not poo) and olive oil . Again, throw in some chamomile and cedarwood, maybe some frankincense to hide the wrinkles

So you see, when you slowly but surely start to reset your body clock to one that mimics nature, you start to become averse to the one set about for you where the minutes and the seconds tick by like the sound of an old matron towering over you with a hardy wooden bat, slapping in hand while she waits for you to obey or get the wallop. Smack smack smack smack the time goes by with a marching brutal fury, every second a tense breath hold to get right what we’ve come here to do according to the one that set the clocks. Fail and you’re done for. Why so severe? Why so tough? Why can’t it slow down and be gentle to us or let us be gentle in the moments in between dongs?

Ah, because the victor needs he’s needs met so you can’t slow down. ‘NO REST FOR THE WICKED’ – A phrase that was originally expressed as ‘no peace for the wicked’ and refers to the eternal torment of Hell that awaited sinners possibly referring to those of us that can’t keep up with the expectation of the chimes but also very possibly referring to those that sin against the calling of the natural clock we were gifted from the Gods and if we fail to see the dangers of the clock set for us, a tormenting hell awaits those that fail to attune to the natural order within ourselves and instead out of ignorance settle miserably for one of dark demise

My great great Grandfather, Bernhard Wendel came from the Black Forest in Germany. The homeland of the cuckoo clock. A tradition deeply embedded in Bavarian culture and one that tells a tale of a wind up clock that would hourly chime the cuckoo call. There is absolute beauty in this clock, Traditionally and authentically it would be made out of linden wood. It would also fashion other handmade craft instruments such as deer antlers, horns, leaves, acorns, guns and pine cones and the weights are made of cast iron. All settings mechanically designed to operate on a 1-8 day cycle. Some would even offer scenes of people chopping wood, dancing or spinning wool on wheels. Scenes of collective chalet living in the Bavarian hills.

The symbolic meaning of the cuckoo however, is one of interesting consideration, as the cuckoo is very much an ‘it takes a village’ mentality, leaving her own eggs to hatch in the nests of others and removing the eggs of others so that only hers get fed. She is a monumental opportunist that seeks the best possible outcomes for herself and her children from the hard work and efforts of others. Very much in tune with the clock structure that we as humans adhere to in our own mechanical world of ‘clock in – clock out’ – Let’s just also consider that the inner mechanism that allows these clocks to operate and activates the cuckoo is driven by gears and gravity. Ah, that led weight force that keeps us all grounded down to earth and on the path, one foot in front of the other. As we move in motion left right left right the cuckoo every hour pops out and plays her part too and time ticks and tricks along as so. All dolls within dolls within a big clock village within a clock.

But back to the cuckoo. The powerful, deceptive little lady that comes with a lot of attitude, friendly with an upbeat voice. If you hear her in spring, she’ll put a spring in your step and a beat in your heart, gearing you up for new opportunities that lay ahead. She encourages you to not fear the path but to move along supported by the network of your village, but as friendly as she seems remember, she is also the master deceiver taking the nests of others and killing the eggs of those she entrusts to feed her own children. They also mimic the sound of other birds to distract them from the nests giving her time to swoop in and place her eggs and escape unnoticed. She is, just as time would tell a trickster in her own right. Getting others to do her hard work for her while she sits back and watches the clock for her master.

There is also the point to mention that, based on an old child’s rhyme, which depicts the title of the famous Jack Nicholson movie ‘One flew over the cuckoos nest’, the meaning of the title comes from the epigraph that reads “One flew east, one flew west, / One flew over the cuckoo’s nest.” – This has come to mean that flying over the cuckoo’s nest is a way of expressing that someone is crazy. ‘He’s cuckoo’, meaning he’s lost his marbles. Interestingly enough, the later saying also has reference to many forms of birds also but in particular the cuckoo because ‘losing your marbles’ happens when the birds that are interested in stealing shiny objects come and take them from you leaving you wondering where they went and inadvertently driving you mad. Birds nests are filled with shiny treasured stolen from their human victims, the only difference from the cuckoo versus the other notorious thieves is that the cuckoo will steal from the nests of other birds whatever shiny objects they stole themselves making her the very worst kind of thief!

On quite a dark note with regards to the deceptive cuckoo that steals the eggs and nests of others whilst clock watching for her master, there are tales from the black forest that are actually quite similar within our human collective. The tales from the brothers Grimm, in particular Hansel and Gretel speak of the missing children that disappear into the forest only to be met by those that wish to eat them. The calling of the cuckoo would let the predators of children of many kinds know their footing and the forest would then become a devilish playground for those that had dark motives with the lost, innocent wanderers. Hansel and Gretel did escape and found their way home but the forest is no place for the meek and mild who stand no chance against these forest dwelling villains

It’s now 6.36 am and I am about to go and make myself a coffee but as it’s still dark outside I’ll wait a while until it feels like i can crawl out of bed unnoticed. My youngest is asleep next to me and I don’t want to disturb her. I guess the point of this message is to guard your own nests and protect your space so that no deceivers can swoop in and take what’s yours. The funny thing and the reason I couldn’t sleep (I’m usually a sound 7 hour a nighter) is that on January 2nd and out of nowhere, one of my husbands old friends from 16 years ago when we lived back in Barcelona arrived uninvited and unannounced. I like to think of myself as a welcoming person and for the most part I am, especially to family and close friends. Do I welcome the less familiar? Yeah it’s tricky. I’m British. I’m hard wired to put up walls and I do try my best but I am also a very intuitive person that can read the intentions of others and having 2 daughters in my home I will not allow my nest to be weakened or made vulnerable by the cuckoo like behavior of others.

Explain your intentions, be clear, set your TIME AND DATES as we’ve all got a schedule to meet but without that (and has been the case here hence why I cannot sleep) you’re not welcome in my nest. My daughter, mytholover that she is refers to me as Athena. Says I’m a war warrior that you don’t mess with. I’m not so sure? I wouldn’t say I’m brutal but I have a nest to protect and unlike Athena who I believe had no children, nothing is more important to me than the safety and well-being of my babies and I for one do not pass their upbringing over to neighbor nests to take care of. As mentioned at the very start, the rising and falling of self mimicking nature over time is something that I have become so attuned with, seeking the softness in the flow or the rage in the winds. Time to me isn’t the same as it used to be when clock stamping meant you switched off from the natural world around you and swapped it for a mechanical world by which you’re just a piece. A cog in the wheel. A brick in the wall.

I suspect that our uninvited guest is perhaps escaping the clocks of London and is seeking sunshine, refuge and solace away from the ding dong. I get that. Having worked for the best part of a decade in the fields of WORK LIFE BALANCE (3 words I hate the sound of) I know very well the pains that people are experiencing having to give all their time away for pittence in return most of who then thanks to the stress of this lose their marbles and end up flying furiously into cuckoo nests having been deceived and tricked into a lifestyle that ‘hasn’t quite turned out the way it said on the box’ – Ah this maze we live in has been a cunning and most deceptive veil indeed and the only way to lift it and not go mad or lose your marbles as my great great grandfather Bernhard did (he sadly killed himself post war after a long psychiatric battle or so I’m told) is to reset your clock.

YOU ARE THE CLOCK!

Time is on your side so decide what it is you’re going to do with it. Become your own time master. Become your own shiny chimer. Having grown up on the European tales of Brothers Grimm and Has Christian Andersen, the darkness isn’t something that terrifies me too much. I take the tales as a part of our past that perhaps needed to be known in order to make the changes so desperately needed to herald in the light. You only know a forest needs more light within it if you’ve seen how dark it can get. Our history and the tales woven into the very fabric of who we are and what we are can’t only be love and light. We need the darkness too

In our INNER CHILD WORKSHOP, one of the questions asked throughout the 1st week is ‘WHAT WE’RE YOUR BIGGEST FEARS WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?’ – Mine was always the dark. I was terrified of the dark and sleeping alone so I would always go and get into my sisters bed and I absolutely had to have a light of some kind on. A little glowworm nightlight teddy in the 80’s was all the rage! But I can remember one night when I was about 12 years old and FYI I was at boarding school from the ages of 10-17 so I was always in a dorm with others but still, this particular night, one of the matrons and the only kind one we had said to me “You’re scared of the dark because you are the light and you shine bright in the dark” – It shook through me when she said this because I know it’s true. The brighter you shine, the more visible you become to predators of the night. You stand right out and there’s nowhere to hide!

The Goddess of night, Nyx, FEARED EVEN BY ZEUS is known as she who travels the sky on a chariot drawn by four black horses, wearing only a black cloak so wide that it covers the whole sky. But remember, as she cloaks herself in the dark and ventures out into the fallen light she isn’t asking us to be fearful of it. There are lessons to be learned here as she masters darkness to spread light and to help you see, in your darkest hour, the light at the end of the tunnel. Being connected with the night, she will make it so you don’t fear it anymore. We need sleep in order to rise high throughout the day. We need the dark in order to sleep deeply. That best kind of buried, bottomless slumber where we float down down down……

The light is now lifting. As the pendulum swings from one shade to another and all the colours in-between, I urge you to stop clock watching. Switch off alarms. Rise with the sun and fall with the moon. This life of notifications, alerts and buzzing, tracking ourselves like maniacs will drive us to a literal tormenting hell with no rest for the wicked so stop following the timeline of the wicked and get on board the natural ebb and flow.

I know it’s easier said that done during these strange days we’re living in where it seems we’re dancing between worlds with a foot in each and they’re moving further apart fast fast fast but the balance will come. The timelines will start to feel less severe the more we align ourselves to what makes us feel our most authentic and some how, I just now that all will be ok and there’s nothing to fear.

As for our uninvited guest, let’s see. A new dawn rises

And on that note, I shall leave this here and go seek coffee and toast. But before I go let me ask you, if we had to work according to a calendar with official months, days and hours etc, what do you think it should look like?

12 months and 365 days with a leap year every 4 years?

13 months and 28 days a month like our lunar calendar and our cyclical female bodies?

Where would the 13th month fit in? I guess it would need to be somewhere in between July and August so that Sept Oct Nov and Dec can go back to being our actual 7th 8th 9th and 10th month instead of our 9th 10th 11th and 12th no? And there you have it! A bullshit calendar set up by some Roman that just needed to have extra days for tax purposes……Eeeeeeekk!

SO TO CALENDAR OR NOT TO CALENDAR?

What will the future of time and space look like? The lighter the world gets, the faster and higher we ride! Time to learn to fly folks

TIME – THAT TRICKY OLD THING. BACK AND FORTH WE GO

2024 – THE YEAR OF CHANGE AND GROWTH!

We can only hope that next year provides us with some respite and the opportunity to find light and flow but what if I were to tell you, you can have that right now if you want? Ha, well right now and judging by the feels that most of us are sharing especially within our framework where we spend our days asking people ‘HOW ARE YOU?’ Yeah, the responses haven’t been great so for us to say ‘well, that’s on you’ would probably tick most people off and rub them up the wrong way but, you’re here in THIS moment in time for a reason. Round and round we go and repeat repeat repeat history over and over if not with protagonist ‘X’ on ‘STAGE Y’ then by some other players but the themes and notions all the same.

Why is this? Well, as history repeats, so does time. It doesn’t work in the way we’re lead to believe where we think there is a line and from A to B we go. It isn’t like that at all, and once we realise we can work with time, manipulate time and bend it to our advantage then our entire reality changes. We get the AHA moment and we flip the script and start to realise that we can create anything that we want out of our lives and while that may sound utterly far out or fantasy let me tell you, MANY MANY people right now are doing this and achieving phenomenal results, experiences and goals out of life because they chose to look at it from a different angle. A new perspective

TIME! We wake up to the bell and from there on in, the day is set out for us. An orderly structure that must be met with compliance and routine with a few breaks throughout for us to recharge. Then the bell goes again. Home time and we get to slow down, ready to sleep the day off and repeat all over again the following. A scheduled existence is what we’ve grown accustomed to believe is normal and whether it is or not is not for us to say but, there has been a changing of the tides somewhat over the last few years where, after eons of now exhausting ourselves to meet the requirements of the ‘schedule’, people are finding that they’re sick of the clock, the bell and the damn order and want to follow the rhythm of nature with “circadian rhythm” being a popular movement and ‘hashtag’ that is creating an uprising, especially among those that have selected or been delegated to the WORK FROM HOME possibility. The tolling of the iron bell seems to be becoming a distant echo and we are finally starting to catch a glimpse of a new reality. A new wave of time

BUT WHAT WILL THIS LOOK LIKE? WHAT WILL TIME TELL US ABOUT OUR FUTURE?

Have you noticed how FAST the time has gone over the last few years? With so many people saying they’ve no idea what day it is anymore let alone the time. It just doesn’t seem to make sense anymore and time is running away with us all. Well, funnily enough, that could be so. I know many people don’t like to hear about Bible reference or simply it could be that they don’t understand it but, it was said and prophecized that during the ‘END TIMES‘ things would play out in certain ways. Ways that sound much like the way our world has indeed been playing out now for some time. See, History repeats repeats etc, until something changes. Until either we change or until there’s a prophetic shift but as all of this madness outside of us plays out as scripture said it would, what does it mean, THE END TIMES?

Well, for those of us that play with time, history, philosophy, psychology and ask the questions on all of what it is we are and why we’re here and what to do, the way many seem to see it is that the end times is simply that. It is not ‘THE END OF THE WORLD‘ but it is the ‘END OF TIME – AS WE HAVE KNOWN IT‘ to now be replaced by some other measure yet to be known to us. For years now there has been this consideration for a reformatting of our calendars. Many quaff at this. How on earth can you alter a calendar? It surely is what it is and how it’s always been, right? WRONG! We have had so many different calendars depending on where we’re from: The Hebrew, Hellenic, Julian, Gregorian, Mayan, Egyptian, Chinese, Iranian etc etc and then they fall into types being lunisolar, lunar, solar and seasonal. Many times over time we have had alterations or new versions / adaptations of calendars that are introduced by whichever protagonist is playing centre stage at the time (The victor sets the rules for the next round) and on and on we go

But this TIME, something is different. This time, the victors will be numerous. There will be no one presiding lord to come in and shuffle the boxes around in HIS new castle. The biblical END TIMES suggest that actually, this time round, WE the mere mortals might actually get to the intended destination we were meant to reach millennia ago, except, we just kept F##ing it up. Could it be that this time, we might actually ‘get it right?’

WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE?

All of these man made laws, ethics, legislations, restrictions etc have all been set by a bunch of, well who on earth knows but what is as clear as day to most of us now is that most of our laws and ethics and hugely unethical and should be astoundingly questioned. What is a way to make mass amounts of money and protect the roles of power in play by many throws the rest of us under the bus for the most part. How can this be changed? Again, if we were to consider the Bible for anything and during these times, religious or not, I would suggest you do, as it highlights future prophecies and timelines on exactly this downfall. Not our downfall but the downfall of a system that has hindered our ascension and evolution. To be replaced by what then?

Well, God did task Moses with passing on the 10 commandments to us but TIME and TIME again, we have monstrously failed to complete our tasks here by means of compliance to the creator and instead made up our own unscrupulous set of rules designed to play us all off against each other, the exact thing that the creator had warned us not to do so could it be that during the END TIMES we might actually start to take heed in the warnings of the ways and begin to put into practice what was intended for humanity? A rising of sovereignty and divine blessings to those that deliver on the acts of the covenant. And for this, you don’t have to attend church or declare yourself a party member of any such religious institution as again, we see that the ways of such man made entities have swayed us away from the real truth and the paths destined for us to follow which TIME and TIME again we have fallen trap to

The purpose of writing this message corresponds to our FEBRUARY TAKE THE LEAP WORKSHOP where we will be looking back over our individual / personal history and also our collective history and then looking ahead to what our futures look like. A blending of timelines designed to awaken us to who we are, where we have come from and what our purpose is here. Again, I stress this is not a religious lesson of any kind but I highlight the points of scripture (all scriptures regardless of origin speak the same truths and walk the same paths however are branded differently for the purpose of the creators lessons by which we must LEARN to unite rather than divide according to our sacred sovereignty and not what we are told to do by others that mislead us away from our true calling) – The importance of seeing the past and the future simultaneously are what help us to envision the present with awareness.

If every chapter of the book of your life was the same each time history repeats repeats repeats, it would be a pretty boring old book. This is not why we’re here! And if every time TIME took us down the same old roads to repeat repeat repeat the chapters over and over, it would make the point of being here utterly wasteful and useless so, as 2024 is incoming and let’s just have a quick consideration for the year of the WOOD DRAGON that according to the unfixed lunar calendar (the opposite of our fixed Gregorian solar calendar) will work wonders for opposing solar energy where anything solar based is projected to thrive. Think new tech, AI, cyber security and blockchain businesses that have strong ethical platforms and integral innovation will launch like a sky rocket providing the opportunity for many in these fields to create huge abundance and wealth. 2024 is set to be a game changing year for anyone looking to start new projects and set about to become innovators and problem solvers of things that are going to be dynamic ways for us to evolve our TIMELINE forwards so, as Doc said in BACK TO THE FUTURE “Where we’re going we don’t need roads” he is bang on the buck here as 2024 is a year to learn to FLY like a dragon into the future but with a grounding earth influence making sure that you don’t take off and struggle to get ‘back down’

So, where are you heading? What direction are you going to take because 2024 is the year of the karmic crossroads. The path you decide to take will pave the way for your next X amount of years because TIME from here on in will not look or feel anything like it has done before. TIME is now quantum. It is fluid and if you want to learn to ride the wave and not fall off you’d better take heed about what your goal is here. Who you are and why? RISE UP to the tasks and stop giving your power away to those that don’t have your best interests at heart. Start owning your life as the creator intended and create the life you were destined to lead!

The future looks amazing

NEW MOON – THE MOTHER, FAMILY, INNER CHILD, PROTECTION

It is 17/07/23 and the day / night of the new moon in Cancer. This moon is reflective of the sacred mother. The protector of children and the home. The caregiver and gentle guide that lights the way home in all senses

The crab retreats in to its shell. Yesterday we went for our swim and my husband, youngest and myself all watched a fairly big crab edge its way under a rock for safety and solace. This is the energy of the protector and caregiver that safely and responsibly holds space for those that rely on the support of the elders and watchwomen to raise and nurture those that are yet to become independent and face the world alone

Right now, there is a calling to be in the sanctuary of home, whatever that looks like for you. I have spend the last few days homebound as my husband has been working all weekend, which is unusual so to not have a car and be in a very hot lock in is not our normal space but it is one I have welcomed and although this heat is unproductive, I have found that cooking, cleaning / cleansing and spending time with my babies just us at home has been an absolute blessing.

As many of you know, I am working on releasing my 1st book this week. The book of beginnings – Inner child, which is the starting point / the root cause of where to begin to look at healing, remembrance, guidance and solace. The very fact I decided that this week would be the time I chose to launch this creation in to the world is so telling as it is falls under the reflective energy of the cancer moon – The sign of the nurturer, healer and protector of children and home. Everything this book speaks of that hopefully you can channel in to your own family and home

The cancer signature is a profound energy of past memories and timelines. It could be said that the disease of cancer (while cancer disease has absolutely nothing to do with the astrological sign might I stress) but that given the strong connection to do with past trauma residing in this sign, the sign where unhealthy home lives, fractured families and emotional instability occurs on the malefic side of this sign that it is during these reflective energies that issues surrounding these topics could arise and present like a cancer / tumour all that is in need to be healed and restored via the benevolent mother and caregiver, which, given that the sun and moon are both right now in the sign of cancer is the perfect opportunity to make plans to consciously repair / heal and be that caregiver that you so deeply need to connect to so that you can cure your ills and do your deep healing work.

One of the illustrations that is in the 1st chapter of my inner child book under the subject of the SACRED MOTHER FATHER speaks of this:

It was just this morning that I recorded a podcast on exactly that. How to connect to past and future timelines and connect them to the NOW. Often we can’t remember much about our past or we have vague fractals of memories that creep in but we’re left unsure about how we can tap in to them. As mentioned, my book ‘The book of beginnings – Inner child’ speaks of exactly this, and how tapping in is something we need to do intuitively (cancer mother / feminine) in order to understand our sensual responses (the body / heart / stomach) hence our gut responses coming from intuitive impulses and our heart connection to our inner worlds (our homes) and how tapping in to them literally unlocks the portals to the memories we hold that need to be seen and felt in order to be re-viewed, re-lived and released

Many of us don’t want to lift the lid on these uncomfortable memories. That’s why we buried them there and forgot, but, here’s a little post that I put out on instagram this weekend that much like in my book speaks of the marriage between heaven and hell, good and evil, light and dark and the symbolic psychoanalysis of ‘Beauty and the beast’ that speaks of how we cannot hide from the painful memories and trauma for it is forever present within us, even if we desperately pretend that it is not:

So I suppose then to conclude, I would like to suggest that those conscious of these energies spend time nurturing. Be at home, cleanse your space, hug your kids, go gently in to the energies and ask for abundance in all things your home and family need in order to be protected and cared for during these times

I have spent some of today writing / designing sigils and creating abundance spells with my kids (my eldest actually introduced me to this) and I created one for one of my friends Charlie who is in search of a new home and I have just received a message from her saying that whatever I put out for her has indeed worked and she believes that as of this afternoon she has, after a good while of exacerbated hunting sourced something!

Ah, blessing everyone to have a safe solace and home for them and their loved ones! Now is the time! And I have had my lovely mother in law around (she baked us a cake) and we have sat by the pool, 3 generations of girls together (My mother in law I feel must be acknowledged for the fact she herself is a cancerian) so in this house we are in full nurture, fem vibes and that is all good with me!

I also feel it apt given the sun and moon and the timing of my book launch and inner child energies, that I create a nurturing, protective sigil for US ALL and this one is titled:
