I came across a piece today that absolutely stunned me. I have spent the last year deep in a humanities piece about religion, politics and heritage and there is much to say about all of what I have studied and learned over this last year in particular but, the one defining lesson I take from it all is that life is to be experienced, for all our past has different beliefs, timelines, stories and myths they are all part of a woven tapestry that one could chose to pick a side to BELIEVE in or stand on but when so much of our past contradicts or moves away from one belief to the next where does that leave us?
So, as we have become godless, merciless, distracted and divided, I will leave this here for anyone that wishes to read it and for my fellow English brothers and sisters, I believe it speaks to you more so but let it be known, it is for ALL of us!
Today, where I am is assumption day. The bells rang early this morning. I hold space for the people of this land I borrow to enjoy their celebrations but perhaps the message is to enjoy the experience rather than immerse into such an orthodox belief which sets us aside from any other value or insight and keeps us bound in chains, for if history teaches us one thing, it is that it repeats, it just does so with a different template and set or rules
Maybe this time, at the final chapter, we should be opting for a divine one?
I do not know who wrote this. It appeared as a share on my X feed by a guy I follow in the UK. He doesn’t know who wrote it either but the message nonetheless is one of the strongest Ive read in a long time and very resonant to what I have this year been experiencing so please, give it a read and think about it deeply.
