THE ROOT CAUSE WORKSHOP
The INNER CHILD back to the beginning workshop will uncover the basic principles and foundations of what is laid out in Kathryn Asher’s book DEAR CHILD and as the book comprises of 4 counterparts, we will dedicate each chapter to each week of the month however, rather than interpret from a psychoanalytical perspective (although this will come in to play) we are going to use this workshop to lay some creative, practical work and get our inner child’s imaginative and active!
WHAT WILL THIS LOOK LIKE?
We will be working through a lot of what is in the beautiful soul search book by Kathryn Asher, ‘DEAR CHILD‘ where we will explore ROOT CAUSES, behavioral loops and patterns, trauma bonding, the world of emotions and somatic embodiment and BODY BRAIN connection.
This workshop is really a way to channel and apply creative and inspiring activities in to your inner child healing journey. We are going to spend each week exploring the many ways we can put our healing into practical use through journaling, books, movies and music to really start to manifest our childlike imagination and find our way back to the person we once were way back when!
We will be creating visual timeline boards full of photo memories, poems, stories and will be engaging with many helpful ways that you can tap deeper in to your journey through creative input and intentional root cause weeding and seeding at the same time as applying scientifically proven psychological principles and analytical protocols

WEEK 1
OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 1
- Understanding what is trauma and childhood trauma
- Understanding triggers
- Understanding the basics of where our disconnect comes from
- Creating safe spaces to explore our timelines and memories
- Understanding the true sacred beauty of childhood
- Moving into re-connections and memory recall
- Re-introducing ourselves to our inner child
- ASSIGNMENT 1 – Documenting our journey from an emotional perspective and an insightful perspective
This week will cover a lot of baseline trauma concepts and scenarios to set a level of understanding so you can identify your own triggers – It will then move into conceptualizing what is and what should have been and could be a very healthy, sacred and beautiful childhood – It will then move into creating safe zones so that when we explore memory recall via our own past experiences, we know we are safe to go as deep as we want and then lastly, we will commence ASSIGNMENT 1, which will be a very interactive and interpersonal timeline / vision board and journal creation for you to re-connect, play and explore the world of emotions and imagination with your own Inner child in both the past, present and future!

WEEK 2
OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 2
- Exploring the world of emotions and what they really are
- Introducing the BODY BRAIN CONNECTION (and disconnection)
- Looking at how emotions show up in the body and how to identify BODY BRAIN synchronicities somatically
- Looking at somatic healing solutions and coping mechanisms to apply when moving through ANY form of trauma healing
- Looking at PTSD, Trauma bonds, behavioural loops, addictions and other various disorders and patterns that accompany a dysregulated SELF
- A deep dive into the nervous system and how all trauma is in the nervous system and is not the response – how to regulate and balance your nervous system somatically
- A deep look at shadow work – How and why we do this and ways of doing this on a conscious level
- Going back to our journal again, how do the lessons and finding of week 2 compare now that we have a deeper understanding of how our body and brain actually work and how our emotions are all connected to our body brain
- ASSIGNMENT 2 – Going back over the time wheel, we will reflect and consider on times when you FELT certain ways as a child / teen / young adult
This is the week that now we understand how to set safe zones and spaces for ourselves to explore, we are going to take ourselves to the next level, the place where exploration really gets raw – THE BODY BRAIN. It is said that that homes protect the dreamer so that they can truly dream. Our ‘home’ can be our safe space but we can create a safe space anywhere, any time once we know how but, YOUR REAL HOME is your body. That is where you need to start to feel safe but that is one of the hardest things to do when every emotion under the sun moves through it daily and you feel vulnerable, exposed unprotected and often don’t or can’t appreciate your BODY because of situations in your past but – Here we are going to look at coping mechanisms, ways to LOVE and appreciate your body and brain in new ways, how to shift your mindset and how to connect and understand all the feelings, thoughts and sensations on a conscious level so that you can really move into the next stage of your journey. If you’re a parent, you might during this week see that you are not just doing this for you – You are doing it for your children too!

WEEK 3
OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 3 – A NOTE: THIS IS A BIG WEEK. THERE’S A LOT OF CONTENT SO BE PREPARED!
- Mirror mirror on the wall – Looking at the cognitive psychology of the mirror image and how we can use mirror to practice self-reflection and recognition
- Anima Animus – The transcending of the psyche
- How the transcending of the personal subconscious through shadow work can awaken the anima / animus in us
- The power of the subconscious / unconscious mind and how it can help us shift our current reality
- Archetypes – Exploring the archetypal persona and identities whilst also exploring the concepts of identity layer shedding
- Communication and how dialogues from past forms of communication have been causes of psycho-linguistic trauma and programming
- Changing the ways we talk to ourselves and others
- Looking at how the past has hurt us through false perceptions, limiting beliefs and people pleasing
- Empaths v Narcissists
- An introduction into catharsis and cognitive insights. The cleansing and purification process starts here
- ASSIGNMENT 3 – Let’s get serious about what our future looks like. In order to do that, we need to TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY. We’ve laid the ground work now. This is a time to visualize what we want and structure out how we’re going to get it
In week 3, we are going to shift gears. We have gone through the basics of the body and brain and explored the theoretical and scientific foundations of trauma and emotions but now we’re going to get a little deeper. This week unpacks a lot of content and is FULL of info so do be prepared it might seem like a lot but, there is no race or rush and we can move through each stage at our own pace. We will be looking at the soul for the 1st time and asking who we really are and how we fit in to the world around us. Our conscious and subconscious mind. The Anima Animus from a Jungian psychological perspective. How catharsis is beneficial especially through the lens of literature and performance art to help us identify and release emotions. The masks we wear. The mirror image. The cleansing and purification from victim to empowerment. Empaths and narcissists. Values and worth and to finish it off, our assignment will be focused on SELF ACCOUNTABILITY based on all of the above! IT’S A BIGGIE THIS WEEK!

- Reflection on all that we have explored throughout the 4 weeks and how we have applied all the content in order to foresee a clearer and more conscious future
- ASSIGNMENT 4 – CREATING OUR VERY OWN KINGDOM. With the inner child you have connected back to, take each others hand and start to create in whatever way works for you a world of your very own.
In this final week of the workshop, we are going to CREATE! This week will be where we are each going to bring our little child (our actual little mini me from our past) back into the classroom with the adult us and learn about how we can re-write the stars
We will have a timeline glance over all our lineages. The past, the present and the future all together in the now and we will use this week to visualise and set the intention for the life we want. Week 4 will look deeply into the world of manifestation, what is manifestation, how to manifest and how to utilize your visual powers. In the final chapter of the workshop, with our new found sovereign empowerment and blank canvas by which to create, we will write out our intention and cast our desires out into the world. Re-writing the stars is how we change the world. If you want to change the world, you have to change yourself! But you have to FIND yourself first!
