MODULE 2 – ASSIGNMENT 2

  • Exploring the world of emotions and what they really are
  • Introducing the BODY BRAIN CONNECTION (and disconnection)
  • Looking at how emotions show up in the body and how to identify BODY BRAIN synchronicities somatically
  • Looking at somatic healing solutions and coping mechanisms to apply when moving through ANY form of trauma healing
  • Looking at PTSD, Trauma bonds, behavioural loops, addictions and other various disorders and patterns that accompany a dysregulated SELF
  • A deep dive into the nervous system and how all trauma is in the nervous system and is not the response – how to regulate and balance your nervous system somatically
  • A deep look at shadow work – How and why we do this and ways of doing this on a conscious level
  • Going back to our journal again, how do the lessons and finding of week 2 compare now that we have a deeper understanding of how our body and brain actually work and how our emotions are all connected to our body brain
  • ASSIGNMENT 2 – Going back over the time wheel, we will reflect and consider on times when you FELT certain ways as a child / teen / young adult

This is the week that now we understand how to set safe zones and spaces for ourselves to explore, we are going to take ourselves to the next level, the place where exploration really gets raw – THE BODY BRAIN. It is said that that homes protect the dreamer so that they can truly dream. Our ‘home’ can be our safe space but we can create a safe space anywhere, any time once we know how but, YOUR REAL HOME is your body. That is where you need to start to feel safe but that is one of the hardest things to do when every emotion under the sun moves through it daily and you feel vulnerable, exposed unprotected and often don’t or can’t appreciate your BODY because of situations in your past but – Here we are going to look at coping mechanisms, ways to LOVE and appreciate your body and brain in new ways, how to shift your mindset and how to connect and understand all the feelings, thoughts and sensations on a conscious level so that you can really move into the next stage of your journey. If you’re a parent, you might during this week see that you are not just doing this for you – You are doing it for your children too!

EMOTIONS – ENERGIES IN MOTION

What really are emotions? Well, as we move into the next chapter of the DEAR CHILD book, we reach the part that explores the world of feelings and emotions and how they are the fuel that feeds the creative product which is the experience of life. We could have a good experience, bad one, happy one, sad one. The outcomes are all dependent on our present circumstances and situations but how we react and respond to them really are the brushstrokes as to how deep or dark, surface or light we decide to paint our experience.

It’s really an incredible work of art where we are both the painter, paint, brush, canvas and outcome and it depends on the feels of the day as to what the painting is going to look like – Inside our brain is both the studio and the grand gallery. We collect the snippets of all we see, hear, touch, feel, smell, taste and so on throughout each waking moment so that we can take whatever we feel out of the studio and either smash it, trash it, set it on fire on the canvas of rage or gently blow, whisper, caress and create a serene scene of angelic divinity – MOOD DEPENDING.

Our mood, the very thing that is the theme of our emotional outcome, fluid it flows through all the energies in motion and through us via our physical bodies and brains so that we can connect, process and project our feelings into the physical world and reality thus creating our experience. It all happens through us and the funny thing is, we create every single moment and each and every feeling within that moment ourselves, even the desperately shit moments. Why? Ultimately, so that we can learn from them. The entire world is noting but projected emotions

In Module 1, we looked at trauma loops and bonds and I spoke about how many of the trauma bonds we assign ourselves to are quite unhealthy and some severely damaging yet often we chose them or rather chose not to leave them, for whatever reason we bond ourselves to the experience until we change the template / mood / theme. There are many variables as to why we decide the change and what we do in order to establish change but nonetheless, we suffer these bonds and due to their stronghold over us, we end up feeling stuck, repetitive cycles of emotions that over time locked into that experience really become deeply upsetting and we long desperately for the theme to change

And it is necessary that we do create shifts and allow space for energies to move because if we don’t, much like was discussed in MODULE 1 AUDIO ‘WHAT IS TRAUMA’, we see that the effects of a traumatic experience and the emotions that go with it get stuck and cannot shift and flow out of the body and brain thus creating hardening, toxicity, density and blocks in both the body, physically and the brain, mentally.

However you feel about surfacing trauma / memories / events that have occurred in the past, remember that they are only feelings. They themselves cannot hurt you but, if you feel afflicted by whatever comes to rise, remember that YOU and your mind have the direct ability to change how you feel. You can literally shift your mindset by re-channeling your emotional mind and heart to give you a more positive space to move in to and understand your feelings

SHADOW WORK

In chapter 3 of the DEAR CHILD book we look at shadow work in a greater depth but just as an intro piece to this, I am going to use what we have that is shadow work related featured in chapter 2 and that is on the concept of PETER PAN and his shadow self. Based on what is stated in both module 1 and up to where we are in module 2, by now we realize that the journey of life is one of light and dark energies in motion, thoughts and feelings, the conscious and unconscious mind and how all of these dualistic phenomenons play out together in the grand dance of life, much like BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and PETER PAN as portrayed in my book but, as we get closer to assignment 2 and going over memories and past experiences, lets spend some time with our shadow self both from the past and in the present moment to see how we can relate to the light and dark that exists within us
