Kat’s home

I AM MY NATION

I AM Kat. I am a white, English female born in the late 1970’s in England. A Yorkshire lass to be precise.

I AM the first born of my siblings. The eldest grandchild on my fathers side. Born and raised in Yorkshire, I have always been a girl of the fields, happy in the heather, playing with the cows and sheep, up a tree, later in life behind the village hall with a bottle of something and a few smokes, later on a Southerner as I moved away to study art, later on a Spaniard 2nd hand as I moved away to study life, later on a Mother as I came back home to learn to ground and later on again, a traveller far away in lands that aren’t mine but a home that is

WHERE IS HOME?

I have lived in England, Germany, Spain, Cyprus and went on to marry a man that was born and raised in Zimbabwe although he is of Irish and Scottish descent. We have lived together across 3 countries while his family are continents apart and our children are now raised in lands that are not theirs but a land nonetheless that host them and all their friends that come from many nations including: Holland, Syria, Lebanon, Sweden, Greece, South Africa, Ukraine, Russia and Poland

The most multi-National little place on the planet is now our home but England will always be my roots

But for many, especially when times are tough and threats raise their heads and feet on your land for whatever reason that might be, people start to panic and patriotism / nationalism rises

And that’s fine. It’s great to be patriotic and proud of where you come from but shouldn’t we do that without threats? Without hate and divison aka

YOU CAN BE PROUDLY FROM YOUR NATION – I CAN BE PROUDLY FROM MINE AND WE CAN LOVE EACH OTHER

The problem is, from Nation to Nation, we have been played. A giant game of RISK AND WAR for resources, status, domination and division and use our peaceful heritage against us

So many people from where I am from have over the last decade made it clear on social media that they are embarrassed to be English. To be PROUD of their nation is an utter impossibility given the catastrophic occurrences that have played out BUT, these outcomes have been triggered and orchestrated by governments, leaders making bad decisions that don’t offer benefit to the people of the nation and have nothing to actually do with the every day person walking the streets

Am I proud of my Nation because of the leadership? ABSOLUTELY NOT

Am I proud of my Nation because of the people? ABSOLUTELY

When you strip it all back to what actually exists that can be seen, heard, felt and experienced, my country is incredible!

Fields of green, heather, cows, horses, the open smell of countryside, old mills and rolling hills, distant fires sending smokey air that lingers throughout every winter. The hopeful sound of lapwings in spring and the passing farewell of late summer geese, baa-ing springtime lambs, cuckoos and clip-clops, chatter filled beer gardens, the burbling of a babbling brook, wild garlic breezing the air, bells chiming in the distance, freshly baked scones and toasted teacakes, butchers pies and bacon sandwiches, rolling tractors, Sunday lunches, summertime music festivals, squelching wellies in mud, Friday fish and chips with lots of sarsons vinegar, rainy day pitter patters on a library windowsill, books that are hundreds of years old that smell like a timeline that still lingers in the old halls of every Victorian building, lead windows, wooden staircases and old stonework and timber tell tales of our historic past while traditional costumes made of tweed and wool, petticoats, pearly kings and queens, Morris dancers, ballroom dancers, Blackpool pier, Blackpool rock, Kendal mintcake, licorice sticks, Beefeaters, bowler hats, red letterboxes, chimney sweeps, cobblers, ye olde english sweetshops selling sarsaparilla drops, rhubarb and custard, cherry lips and dipdabs all paint the vast colours of our country

The sound of football chants, the cheers of rugby wins, the bat and ball of cricket season, sports days in the sunshine (when its allowed to shine), the scattering of daffodils everywhere, the filled parks in summertime more daisies than people, people making daisy chains, hotdogs and fried onions, the rush of passing trains, the sound of laughter, always laughter with the brilliance of British sense of humor, terrible weekend TV that you can’t do without, tree climbing, high street trawling, charity shops, the grand national, the little chef, cups of tea with granny and walks by the river, cities bustling with people from everywhere but everyone just fine, and when you’re not, a day in bed with a yorkshire tea and a jammie dodger – If its the kids that are down, postman Pat and Peppa pig!

MY country is FULL of incredible artists, visionaries, designers, chefs, landscape artists, green fingered magicians, healers and wizards, some of the best musical and literary talent that has ever existed. Sculpture parks bursting with local masterpieces, museums and events galore. You don’t have to big a big name. Small names get their time to shine too. So many smiling faces, plenty for the young people to do. I know this now living in a place that is quite the opposite. You don’t have to be skinny to dance or gymnastic. Everyone and anyone can join in – And they do!

Girls football on the rise. Singers, dancers, swimmers, street performers, comedians, skilled tradesmen and women, local traders, farmers, craftsmen…..

COME ON ENGLAND! I KNOW TIMES ARE TOUGH BUT YOU’VE GOT IT GOING ON! DON’T FORGET THAT!

This is what makes me proud. The little things of the every day people that are OH SO LOUD but that have quickly yet subtly been forced to be forgotten.

DON’T FORGET!

The way communities come together, or at least they used to. I know times have changed and things have slipped but we’re bringing it back!

So, wherever you’re from – What makes you proud of your heritage?

Because although Globalists don’t want you to be proud and want to take it all away from you and strip it bare, YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT to be proud of where you’re from!

I also love the heritage of other places

The flash and colour of India. I’ve never been but I can already smell the incense taste the incredible street foods and imagine the magnificence of the architecture, populous and noise!

The sounds of Flamenco in Spain. The taps and claps. The heated conversations. The smell of garlic, wine and seafood. The bullfights, m ore of a dance between beast and man. The salty backdrop on humid sweaty skin. Late night walks down the paseo. Such a high vibe you can’t compare to anywhere else

Zimbabwe, your Baobab trees. My husband says if he was ever to become a tree, this would be his tree. Good job then that mine would be a Jacaranda as they are native to here too. The night apes, the great Zambezi, elephants in Mana pools, the flame lily, Biltong, Nyanga National park, Sadza, Lake Kariba house boat trips, fishing galore, cream sodas, chicken flings, Braai’s, hoopoes, friendly people everywhere, the bread basket of the world!

The list could go on and on and on and on – And given I work in a school with MANY nations, I have heard the stories of oppression, aggression, division and hate from so many voices but all the voices say the same thing.

THEY DON’T WANT HATE THEY WANT LOVE

A young girl I know from Shiraz, Iran said that she has lived here in Cyprus for many years. Her family fled and are exiled due to extreme Islamic influence that they never wanted. Her family have memories of their national culture prior to the takeover by this tyrannical regime in 1979 and now they are terrified to display their national heritage for fear of western persecution due to raising terrors and conflicts due to this enforced propaganda machine

JUST TO BE CLEAR ABOUT NATIONAL IDENTITY BEFORE THE WORLD WENT MAD WITH GLOBALIZED TERROR REGIMES, HAVE A LOOK AT THIS STUNNING DISPLAY OF WOMEN’S BEAUTIFUL HERITAGE DRESS BEFORE THEY WERE ISSUED OPPRESSIVE REGIME COSTUMES INSTEAD:

I feel I have to point out at this moment that everything we’ve worked through thus far has been aiming at stripping back false beliefs, false identities, false concepts and outdated / oppressive control systems

When we look deeply at the query of who is in charge of any regime that puts a woman in a dress to cover her entirety and then send men over to other lands with the message of INVASION AND THREAT, be very careful of who you blame because normal, ordinary people don’t usually go to such extreme measures nor have the resources to to deliver such hate. The media do however…

FOLLOW THE MONEY AND YOU WILL SEE WHERE YOUR REAL THREATS LAY!

So, with that said, I completely appreciate that each Nation is unique, individual and has the right to maintain their cultural identity and national pride based on their land, resources, creative craftsmanship, community spirit and power!

We all know this deep down. England in particular. We have adopted so many other cultures into our own and with LOVE and my goodness what a divinely blended community we are!

I have many 2nd / 3rd generation BRITISH born friends from other root countries that are as BRITISH as I am. Understand please the difference between British and English.

I am an English person born in England therefore I am English British. My friend Angelee is family heritage Punjabi Indian but born in the UNITED KINGDOM therefore, she is INDIAN BRITISH, my friend Raul is family heritage Uruguayan but born in the UNITED KINGDOM therefore he is URUGUAYAN BRITISH. My husband was born in Zimbabwe though his family heritage is Irish and Scottish. He has no bond to the UK through birth therefore he is a 3rd lineage national through blood rite of Ireland only.

People born inside the UK from outside Nations have more right than mu=y husband because he was born in far away lands. Sadly, the same can not be said from the lands he was born in but that’s a sad story for another time…….

What is absolutely obvious and undeniable, is that since the beginning of time, man has moved. Migration is one of the most crystal clear things though whether the reported and documented history tells us the truth about the versions as to how, where and when, that’s a different matter but it is 100% fact that man has always been on the move therefore, we cannot ever state with 100% certainty that:

THIS IS MY LAND BECAUSE I AM 100% FROM HERE AND YOU’RE NOT

Even if you do a DNA test to trace your actual lineage to its depth accuracy, doesn’t mean that you’re standing on land that your ancestors came from through origin

Imagine being told for example: Your DNA comes back as 80% Danish 10% French and 10% English and you thought you were through and through from Doncaster. Are you now going to pack your bags and try to get entry into Denmark because your bloodline says that’s predominantly where you’re from?

PROBABLY NOT

And if someone else was born in your land and had family living and working here as immigrants prior to their birth are you going to tell them to pack their bags and go back to ‘where they come from?’

PROBABLY NOT

So, just to conclude, we can and should be absolutely PROUD AND HAPPY to be from where we’re from, even if the land is foreign or even if the documents say otherwise but, do we have to let our national identity DEFINE who we are?

NO, not really because when you move around, travel to other places, live immersed into other cultures, you become a part of them too just like they become a part of you – They don’t define you but they become a part of the patchwork that makes up your cultural and worldly identity

Just a quick disclaimer that if you’re from somewhere absolutely horrific and I’m here suggesting you be proud and happy but your circumstances are otherwise, I see you and one day I hope your Nation will rise into one of peace and joy! I know not everywhere it cutesy

AGAIN, YOU CAN HAVE ROOTS AND WINGS!

Both my daughters were born in the UK and English nationals to an English mother and an Irish Zimbabwean father. We left England 4 years ago and my youngest has very few memories of her time back home because here is now her home. We have become deeply embedded in this country, the land, the people, the way. My children both went to Greek school, my youngest still does. we LOVE the culture and respect the ways.

WE PUT THIS QUESTION OUT ON ONE OF OUR FOCUS GROUPS TO SEE THE RESPONSE

The reason being and when we get to the part about our SOUL IDENTITY, we come to realize, through experiences, emotions, events that happen to make or break your perspective of this very question and I know it all too well, that unless you’re someone that has had your home rattled, lost, shaken, taken, stolen and have been in fear of not having ‘THE ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD‘ or ‘THE SHELL TO CARRY TO PROTECT YOU‘ or been exposed to the reality of having to leave your home, your safety net, your sanctuary and move to shores that ‘aren’t yours’ then you have no real concept of the nature of this question therefore, you’re in absolutely no position to criticize or judge

Because HOME is not a place made of bricks and mortar that you pay for and get a piece of paper with your name on in return. It isn’t a lifetime of grafting so you can pay the bank back every month. It isn’t the equity that you can barter and trade to upsize or downsize and gamble away. It isn’t the place on a map surrounded by man-made boarders that do nothing to protect us anyway….

IT IS WHERE LOVE IS!

Where there is community. Spirit. Connection. Safety. Stability. Trust. Freedom and yes, LOVE…..(and really really good food, great smells, amazing views, lots to do, laughter and fun, happiness for everyone!)

We may not always agree with each other or always get on but wherever my home is, YOU ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS so let’s make the most of it!

If somehow you can’t do that or have an issue with that, your NATIONAL IDENTITY has got toxic rivers running through it that need a good clean….
